Ugh. Well good thing I came across this. This pretty much seals it for the NU8000 unless something else comes up before I get it.

And thanks for answering all our questions. Seriously nice to have an expert in here.

I know everyone may not like my input, but I'm just honest. I don't want people to end up with something they don't really want. Thank you.

Definitely want to hear the negative input as well.

So I'll try not to keep bothering you with questions, but would you say the NU8000 is a solid choice all around at it's price point even though it's a 2017 TV?

          NU8000 isn't a 2017 tv, it's 2018.

Oh ok. Even better. Not sure why I thought it was a 17 TV.

Banding will be an issue on basically all LED panels. Some will be almost nonexistent, but they are still there. Generally you will not see them as the video doesn't usually have a consistent background color. Sports are one thing that you can see them as the green grass covers most of the screen and then horizontal panning of the video will really show them. Soccer or golf are the easiest to see them on.

I would definitely look at the TV in person and see if you see any problems. Some people don't notice them, but once told about them it is hard to not see them.

Unless you have the TV you can't speak on the issues. People see a price and unknown brand and its garbage without seeing it.

Oled TVs suffer from vertical banding and many led TVs suffer from DSE

For 899 for 65 inch the tcl destroys the nu8000 in terms of reference picture quality.

The NU advantages are all in gaming for lower lag and vrr

But the TCL destroys it on HDR gaming and movies and sdr gaming

You name me a TV and I will tell you a flaw that you will hate. No matter how expensive

I will try to check that TCL out in person. The only place within less than an hour of me that even sells tv's is Walmart.

I just saw a lot of reviews saying that banding issue is horrible and people were returning the TV like crazy. I mean it was originally the one I thought I wanted, but I have to see it for myself now.

I know all TV's have flaws and I know some people are bothered by things that others aren't. and vice versa. So I will check it out. Hopefully the closest Best Buy to me will have it on display.

The more I read about it the more I like it. But also the Vizio P series has caught my attention. Seems to be one of the best period under 1K from reviews.

ITs a nice TV, But In 4k-HDR mode it seems much higher the a lot of TV's as far as input lag (27.3 ms)

Does a 65” and 75 “ have a big difference? I just got the 65 xbr900f and kind of wished I went bigger but the price difference is crazy...

Depends on how far away you are. For me it's a huge difference, I would have gone larger but they just don't make them at a comparable price for anything over 75.
