Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I know everyone may not like my input, but I'm just honest. I don't want people to end up with something they don't really want. Thank you.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
So I'll try not to keep bothering you with questions, but would you say the NU8000 is a solid choice all around at it's price point even though it's a 2017 TV?Last edited by PVarck31; 11-30-2018, 10:20 PM.Comment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
NU8000 isn't a 2017 tv, it's 2018.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I would definitely look at the TV in person and see if you see any problems. Some people don't notice them, but once told about them it is hard to not see them.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
Oled TVs suffer from vertical banding and many led TVs suffer from DSE
For 899 for 65 inch the tcl destroys the nu8000 in terms of reference picture quality.
The NU advantages are all in gaming for lower lag and vrr
But the TCL destroys it on HDR gaming and movies and sdr gaming
You name me a TV and I will tell you a flaw that you will hate. No matter how expensiveComment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread
I will try to check that TCL out in person. The only place within less than an hour of me that even sells tv's is Walmart.
I just saw a lot of reviews saying that banding issue is horrible and people were returning the TV like crazy. I mean it was originally the one I thought I wanted, but I have to see it for myself now.
I know all TV's have flaws and I know some people are bothered by things that others aren't. and vice versa. So I will check it out. Hopefully the closest Best Buy to me will have it on display.Comment

Unless you have the TV you can't speak on the issues. People see a price and unknown brand and its garbage without seeing it.
