Oops, I almost forgot. I ended up getting the Vizio P series. Got it for $699.

Just got it today but haven't set it up yet. Will get it going later tonight.

Any ideas for movies that really show off the HDR?

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Does anyone know why in the Xbox One setting it says my TV doesn't support 120hz for the Xbox and also won't let me check Dolby Vision. It says my TV supports an older version of Dolby Vision not compatible with Xbox One?

I also didn't realize this tv doesn't have bluetooth so I can't connect my sound bar. I have to use a optical cable to my TV. But now I won't be able to get sound through my sound bar through my Xbox unless I just switch the optical cable which will be a pain in the ***.

I guess I would need a sound bar that uses ARC right?

So there is also a setting on here called Active Full Array. I can't seem to find what this should be set to. The options are off, low, medium, and high.

BTW I played Madden and NBA 2K and OMG I had no idea what I was missing without real HDR. Its like a whole different game.

X700 doesn't support high res audio and does Dolby Vision.

Nice. I think you will like it. Let me know if you figure out what the Active Full Array does and what it should bet at. For some reason I'm not finding much on it.

It was pretty easy to calibrate through the eye test. But I feel that regular TV seems off just bit and I can't get those settings locked in.

But wait till you see a true HDR game on the One X. Just wow.

I would Leave Active Full Array on high, thats the local dimming feature and this set does a pretty good job of it. Also if the xbox says that your TV doesnt support Dolby Vision it won't, means whats it says, the TV isn't compatible with the version of Dolby Vision xbox has.

As far as the 120hz Xbox support, I'm not sure. Congrats and enjoy your new TV brother.

This is the list of Only TV's that support XBOX Dolby Vision which IMO sucks.

Make sure you turn on Full UHD Color in the HDMI input to get the full bandwith needed for 4k 60hz hdr and remember that low input lag is only on HDMI 5 input and that has no HDR

To get 120hz you need to set FULL UHD Color to ON and in the xbox menu you must set the hz to 120 from 60hz and it will only do 1080p but you must turn off Allow 4k content for 1080p 120hz to work and rememer no HDR for xbox one x on anything but 4k

Also your tv dolby vision is an old version just like TCL that is not compatible with the Xbox one x, only Sony and LG tvs have the current dolby for xbox one x but TCL is working on an update and I cannot say if Vizio is but am sure they will soon as well

Ok, so basically the One X can only work with 120hz if the video quality is set to 1080p? That makes sense. It's like that with other TV's right?

And I did find something about the Dolby Vision thing. Vizio and MS are supposedly working on a solution to this.

I made sure to turn on Full UHD Color on all the inputs except 5 where I have my PS4 slim.

Also, one more question, does the Xbox One X included HDMI cable have all the standards it needs?

I'm also wondering about the Fire Stick as far as this as well. And funny story, last night when I was trying to watch Planet Earth and Blue Planet on Netflix through my Fire Stick it was only working in 1080p and I was freaking out, then I realized that the Fire Sticks doesn't have 4K on by default.

I've read multiple things on this. Some say leave it on high, others say medium and some even say off because it's a post processing thing.

I was told by someone on Reddit to put it on off all the time except for when displaying HDR it should be on medium. So I am more than a little confused.

Hopefully Scott can weigh in on this.

yea 120hz works only at 1080p and 1440p if your tv supports it

must also turn off allow 4k content on the xbox one x.

The hdmi cable that comes with the X is perfect
