Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I have had the KS8000 55 inch sense 2016 around black friday so going on 4 years. I have started having this thing happen not all the time but more often lately where when i am watching something the picture from like the top kind of roles down towards the bottom. I have had it on disney+, playing ps4, snes etc. I am just wondering should i be worried? I don't want to end up having to buy a new tv for several years. I would like to get a oled but with the kind of money i make not being much i should not be spending like 1000+ on things like tv's that often. I am wondering if this is going to be the start of like a big issue. I would like to go at least like 3 more years before i have to get a new tv.

Well. I had decided on the Sony. After a long talk with my girlfriend, we decided that it's probably best to not spend money on a TV right now. Especially considering that my KS8000 is still running just fine. Hard choice but responsibility has to come first. On the bright side, I know what I'm going to buy when the day comes.

Hey guys, looking at getting some advice on the Q60R. I'm not a huge TV person but I'm looking at upgrading for the next gen consoles. Would you guys recommend this TV and would it work well with the new consoles?

The Q60R is a solid TV, if you’re still able to find that TV, since it is a 2019 model. It’s 120 hz, has good brightness and OK contrast. If you can swing the Q70R, I would recommend that instead.

Thanks, Scott. The range of TVs may be slightly different than in the states. We have the Q60R and the Q60T (which I've read is slightly worse than the Q60R) available but I can't seem to find the Q70R anywhere.

That's correct. Do not buy the Q60T, it's a 60 hz panel and it's not even very bright. Q60R would still be a good choice.

So I'm in a Pickle and need to make a final decision today, my 48" CX OLED was suppose to come Saturday and its been delayed for another week and half.

So I had to call up the store where I ordered from, P.C Richards here in NY.

I told the manager I wanted to cancel my order I didn't want to wait, and he offered me the 55" to be delivered Saturday at the same price as the 48". I kinda wanted to use the 48" CX as my Monitor, but I still have my LG 4k Gaming Monitor which is still great.

You think I should take the 55" since they are keeping the pice the same as the 48", seems like a no brainier to me.

FF, does your space fit a 55"? If it does. go for it. If you really want that 48", give Value Electronics a call in Scarsdale Call 914-723-3344

Let them know you me (Joey aka BFJ 96) I believe they may have in stock. Here's the price

                  48" CX Series
                  OLED48CXPUA $1,497

Most definitely have the space, reason why I was going with P.C Richards, I was using their store card, no Interest for 2 years.

I was going to use the 48" as my monitor, but was iffy about that, I think Ill go for the 55" then for the same price.

Do you have a Best Buy that has a Magnolia Design Center in it? If you order from there, you can have it in a week.

I do but I only went with P.C Richards because I have their card and they are giving me 2 years interest free. The gentleman I am working was sending me the 55" Model tomorrow, he told me to think about it, I did and I declined.

                                Hey y'all.

I'm in the market for a 43'' 4K TV (the time has finally come to retire my well-used 26'' 720p Insignia LCD and make the jump to 4K for the first time) and have been doing my homework on what to look for and possible models over the past few moths.

For awhile, I was gravitating towards the Vizio M-Series Quantum, but they ended up dropping the 43'' version for their 2020 lineup. Since then, several models have caught my eye:

Lately, I've been leaning towards the TCL (with the Vizio being a close second). According to RTings.com, it looks like last year's 5-Series was a better TV than last year's V-Series.

So, with all of this in mind, I have a few questions.

Should I stick with the TCL as my top choice, or should I strongly reconsider one of the other models?

When can I expect information about this year's 5-Series to release? Do you think it will receive the HDMI 2.1 and/or HDR 10+ support that this year's V-Series will receive?

For context's sake, my main use cases are going to be watching physical media (I still have a ton of DVD's and Blu-rays, so upscaling lower-res content will be important), watching live sports, and casual, noncompetitive gaming.
