I have a feeling that you won't be disappointed, 55.

Anyway, I just did a few more tests.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Honestly, the Darblet did very little to it. I expected more. Going too high wasn't really doing anything in the positive spectrum either. Leave it at whatever for this, I guess.

Uncharted 3 - Wow. I think I went up to about 70%, and a beautiful game just gets better. This game has so many patterned and contrasting details that it really takes advantage of what the Darblet does.

Quantum of Solace - I know it already has great detail, but things like rock pebbles, dirt specs, water ripples, etc. make you draw your attention that way. The film grain isn't distracting, and in fact helps the image IMO.

The Dark Knight - IMAX long shots don't seem too affected unless you go above 50% (and in which case you get some gravy skylines!), but non-IMAX shots are mostly hurt by it too high (dumb EE). However, there are cool times like when the mob meets together and you get close shots of the Joker. Press pause, and do a 45% toggle. His makeup and hair look extra creepy when Darbee kicks in.

Toy Story 3 3D - Again, you can boost this bad boy up to about 80% with no shame in the image. Rex really comes to life when it's enabled. As Borat would say: "Very nice!"


At default for most Blu-ray films, I like it at 45%. I still want to try a David Fincher film like The Social Network or Benjamin Button to see if his films can hit the 60% range or so, but otherwise most anything animated can definitely go 60 - 75% all depending. Sports broadcasts can also seem to go over 50% without issues as well, except for some text.

I think that "Darbee" percentage thing is going to burn onto my screen if I keep pressing buttons.

The Darblet can only do up to 1080p/60, and plasma screens have a wider color range (for the most part). I have a feeling plasma screens get more benefit out of it for what they do best (as many LED's have 240 Hz, but the Darblet might not be able to handle that), but large projector screens supposedly get the most out of it.

I run my Darblet on an LED. I see no blur during action scenes or fast pace images.

I've watched various content since getting my Darblet. I have seen nothing around motion that has me concern.

This also goes for gaming. Another plus is there's no Input Lag added by the Darblet while gaming.

I need a TV for my bedroom, since I move out of my old place in February since splitting with my sons mother, I have not bought a set for my bedroom because Its not to big, my old place bedroom was huge. Anyway I bought a 19" insigna for my bedroom and its an awesome set, I have a 50" Plasma in the living room, but this little guy I just bought looks great..Thought it be too small, but its just fine.

So can I buy some 3d glasses that arent directly from the tv manufacturer?

Do they have cheaper universal pair? I know there has to be some out there right?

Darblet just arrived. I have to get to work but afterwards I'll provide some feedback.

A couple of tips worth noting:

- Try and plug it into an HDMI setting that's not HDMI 1. Some Darblets have had problems with it since it is the ARC input.

- Immediately turn off the visual HUD by going to Menu -> Settings -> Logo Properties -> Not Persistent.

- Turn off the LED lights on the god forsaken ugly device as well. Those are menu settings somewhere, I believe.

- Get off Full Pop mode before you think it's ruining your TV. I recommend Hi Def mode.

- Find a clean Blu-ray film (preferably something digital and not overly contrasted... so something like Fincher's recent work), start at 30% with a still, contrasty image (that is, with whites and blacks), and start working your way up to the point where the image isn't starting to look too artificial. Remember, it starts to look more "real" at one point, but eventually there's a point where things start to look smudged and cartoony, almost like A Scanner Darkly. There aren't any artifacts coming on the screen, but the contrast lines are no longer blurred at all, so it's just weird. I recommend between 35 - 55%, but I stick around 40 - 45% myself.

- For sports broadcasts, video games, and animated films, explore a bit of Gaming mode as well as going up to about 70% on the device, assuming your content will be able to handle it. It's not all a "set and be set" kind of thing, depending on how much you want to get out of it... but it certainly can be.

- If you have a universal remote, program your device to it instantly and get rid of that piece of crap remote they give you.

I've been doing gaming mode with 60%. I'll try 70% here. I already turned off all the stuff you said haha, and Im buying a harmony remote here soon.
