Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

The big issue with Vizio is if your TV is connected to your home network the updates are automatically loaded into your TV.

The SONY 850 is a hella nice display with good motion handling and gaming response time.

If the SONY is within your budget, go with the SONY

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

Hey guys I'm really sorry if this is the wrong thread. I wasn't sure if this or the PC thread would be the right place.

I playing Bloodeborn on my ps4 hooked up to a BenQ monitor. I notice that I get a lot of "bluish" in the dark areas (it's a very dark game) to the point where its distracting. I have no idea what setting affects this, brightness, contrast, Rgb levels, etc

      Any advice?

Going to buy a entertainment unit, hide the wires and display my helmets on top of the unit!

Mike, How big are the holes you have to make to attach it to the wall? I've always been a media stand guy , but think I'm gonna need to wall mount my tv in the living room when I get moved in (not a big fan of corner media stands).

Ordered one similar to this on Amazon for $30 <img src=http://ak1.ostkcdn.com/images/products/5195087/Mount-It-Articulating-TV-Wall-Mount-1571453a-a6f7-4ebf-97f3-f9e88bc0a706_600.jpg>

6 screw sized holes (not very big and if we were to move a very simple touch up) into the studs and concrete are holding it up. They sent 3 guys to install it. No way I could do it.

Got a new entertainment unit. Just need to get a wire cover for the wires hanging down from the TV, then I need to hang my 55 inch tv above the fireplace beside it.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

Hey guys, so I'm finally back in the market for another tv. I currently got a Samsung 42" and looking to go for a 55". These are the two that I'm currently looking at.

                      Samsung - 55" Class (54.6" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 3D - 4K Ultra HD TV

                      Sony - 55" Class (54.6" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV

any advice? recommendations? is Samsung SUHD really that much of a difference for the price tag? or am I better off going with the Sony for 1300?

3D is probably raising the price on the Samsung.

Make sure your current TV stand can handle the Sony. Notice how they like the stupid design of having the feet on the outer edge of the TV. Might make it more stable, but your stand had has to be wide enough to handle it.

Same thing I did. When we pulled it off the wall it took some extra paint with it though. I'd definitely call over two buddies to help install it. You could do it with two, but having that extra set of hands might come in handy.

If you are watching content or playing a video game that is not 4K do these 4K sets look as good or better than a conventional LED or OLED set?
