With my TVs, I hate the Warm setting but I bet if I got it professionally calibrated or used suggested settings they would suggest Warm. Its not being sold on a "brighter is better" concept. Its a personal preference on how the TVs look. You may come over and look at my KS8000 and think its too bright. I personally love it.

Same with Beats. I've owned damn near every headphone you can think of. Sony. Bose. Skull Candy. Bowers and Wilkins. Parrot. What are the brand of headphones I own?

I own two pair of Beats wireless headphones. Why? Because I pretty much listen to R&B and Hip Hop and those genres sound great on those headphones. Most people arent audio or videophiles. They look at something and determine if it looks good to them. They hear something and determine if it sounds good to them. Its that simple and thats fine. It doesnt make them morons.

Hoping it gets here in a timely fashion and there are no issues once it's set up and plugged in. Really don't want to deal with that glue situation where the back of the TV separates some.

My living room is not suitable for a curved model.
The curved screens are so over analyzed....I bet if you put a curve screen in your living room and watch it the tv is going to look flat...The curve is so minute it makes no difference at all....Is just a cool thing for Samsung to bump prices but I have the curve and I see no difference and feel like is flat

My living room will be open and I really want to watch some TV while I work in the kitchen as well. It's already said that a weak point of the TV is viewing angles to I figured a curved TV just wouldn't work for what my situation is.

So my setup is long and narrow. If I'm at my kitchen island I would look to the right for the living room. It's not an open concept where the kitchen island would look directly at the TV head on.

I understand, am just stating that the curved is so subtle that is not much different from a flat. And combined with the back plate issue not found in the curved and a bit better motion handling it was easy for me to return my 8000 and get the 8500

But all situations are different and yours seems more inclined to flat. Enjoy the tv is great

Thanks. Reading through the thread it is pretty similar to the discussion here. Most prefer Movie setting but some like Dynamic even if some of the color is unrealistic and it shortens the life of your TV.

Thats less of a concern for me though because I tend to buy a new TV every 3-4 years.

Is it? Isn't that the motion rate? It's listed as 120.

I get it. I just don't know if they know what they're missing or if they truly are sold on "brighter and louder is better."

I was thinking more about the out-of-the-box stuff, though. Since we're on a sports video game forum, we can equate it to sliders.

How many friends of yours tweak the out-of-the-box game settings (outside of many overally difficulty)? I can count exactly zero of my own friends who do that. And if you agree with my statement of "They don't know what they're missing out on" when it comes to authentically representing the product their item is resembling, well that's what I'm referring to with televisions.

I know that online play normally negates these sliders, in which case those who play primarily/solely online they are likely losing out regardless. But once again, companies never advertise with videos outside of what default settings are (we say that all the time with videos saying "They're probably playing on Rookie" and such, so this isn't a new thing at all).

I didn't call anyone morons, but rather largely uninformed. That doesn't mean anything else other than they are not informed on the matter, quite literally. It's like being mad at somebody for saying: "Oh I love Jimmy Eat World. The Middle is awesome!" And that's the only song they can name because that's the only one that the public is ever informed about. Someone like you or I can probably key them in on all of the other great songs they have out there, so much that The Middle would not even come up as a song of theirs off the top of my head before about twenty other ones.

I know people have their own tastes. I just wonder if they have even ventured into the other tastes before. As that AV Forums thread said, they really aren't getting the best out of what their item can do, and it's likely they could have spent thousands of dollars less to get the same thing as they have now. It's like me buying a Smartphone to call people only.

I don't understand some of this, every broadcast is 60hz anyway, so all the 120 does it it's little trickery to make it perceive 120 or 240hz, So don't think it's an issue. I don't get wrapped up in the 120 240hz stuff. As its not true 120 not or 240 it's just the trickery the company uses. From what I read.
Hence why customer should not be under whelmed when buying a 60hz set.

I hear you. Personally, I can't stand dynamic or vivid. It looks horrendous to me especially watching sports where the grass almost looks neon green. I don't know how you guys do it lol, but like you said some people like it. When I go to some people's houses and watch tv sometimes it hurts my eyes lol.

that is not correct at all. 120hz which is 4K and 240hz which is a lot of 1080p sets are not just trickery is how the processor of the tv handles motion.

A fast pace action movie or sports will have more judder with just 60hz and with 120hz or 240 the fast pace action on LED tvs makes the image smoother hence you do not get that nasty blurring

Many of today's TVs are all marketed with "motion," "action" and "clear" numbers from 60 to 240 and higher, but they're mostly made up. We'll tell you the real story.

lol I am 27 and I just bought the KS8000 TV a few weeks ago and have it now but am waiting for a new TV stand to come before I can use the TV but this is only like the 3erd TV I have had now. I have had the same 37 inch TV since 07 when I was 18 and before that I had a 19 inch for has long has I can remember.
