I've researched the crap out of this, and from my experience Samsung's are terrific for bang-for-buck.
The KS8000 is currently on sale at BestBuy for $1800 ($800 off).

I'm thinking of jumping in. This TV looks absolutely gorgeous and I've seen several members here swear by this TV.

The only negative I keep reading is the poor viewing angles. But the room where it'll be placed is mostly straight-on viewing so I don't think it'll be too much of an issue.
    Thoughts?

EDIT: Just saw that the KS8500 is only $100 more than the KS8000.
I wonder if that would solve the angle issue? Anyone have a curved and regret it?

I have the 8500 and it's fantastic. No regrets.

Me neither. Once I found the settings that worked for me it's perfect.

        @All KS8500 (curved) Samsung owners -

Was wondering if you all could do me a favor and check out the back of your tv's and see if there is any sign of your bezel coming off? I had this specific issue when I bought the KS8000 and had to return it (Costco - BEST....RETURN....POLICY...on earth!). Before I had to return it, I thought it was the best PQ on the market! But couldn't get over the bezel coming off...

But I heard that the KS8500 curved version doesn't suffer from this issue....

So if you have this particular version, please advise! Thanks!

They did have some thing with the back being glued on instead of screwed.

Not everyone had an issue with it coming off but some people reported they did.

Got the H8C set up for my girlfriend. Pretty good picture and it's amazing how light TVs are now. Only complain is on the far right of the screen it looks like there is a bar where the picture is brighter. It's not always noticeable, but I saw it. Not really bad enough to bother boxing it back up and returning it though.

I think this was something blown out of proportion. I've had the ks8000 and haven't had any issues with this. I see a slight little lift on one corner but an ant doesn't fit through there. It's barely noticeable and I've had this tv for months.

I got the KS8000 for Christmas. I need all the tips I can get. Haven't upgraded since my old Samsung 1080 set. I have a ps4 and want to know how to get HDR setup and everything.

This 4K world is pretty confusing to me. Any and all tips appreciated.

Get an hdmi cable and change the hdr settings in the PS4. It's that simple. I would also crank up the backlight when in HDR mode.

Make sure u turn on the HDR on the tv itself, after that adjust the settings to your liking.

BTW u do have the Pro rite???

I had the KS8000, only returned it because I could fit a 60" in my existing built-in cabinets. When the decision came down to $669 for the KU6300 or $1299 for the KS8000, I went with the 6300 and am very happy. Size really makes up for some of it's shortcomings.

It's still pretty close to the KS8000 with an HDR feed (PS4 Pro - UnCharted 4), I played them back to back and, the 8000 definitely has the wider range/brightness advantage. I would say it's less of a concern in a darker living room (which mine generally is when I'm watching TV/playing PS4).

The 60 inch ks8000 is the only one I'd avoid since the panel isn't made by Samsung and some people on AVSforum say that size tends to have more blooming issues. The tv you just got is a 60hz tv so it's going to be bad for sports and fast moving games you play. It has other short comings compared to the ks8000 too, but if you're happy with your set that's all that matters.

Yeah, I did my research and knew the differences. Color gamut, lower refresh, etc. but I will say, I literally had both of them in my living room setup (obviously alternating sources) and it's not a massive difference in my eyes. Although, it's easier for the lower performance television to look better since it's 5" bigger.

In the end, I asked myself would I rather have a 5" bigger TV and an extra $350 in my pocket (which covers the PS4 Pro) or keep what I had.

Also..........I seemed to have a lot more blooming on dark scenes (good example was on bootup of a PS game with the KS8000 than the 6300. Again, the KS8000 is a better product, but for me the 60KU6300 was the better value.
