Many people go with both getting a motorized screen that will drop down in front of the tv. Using the PJ for almost exclusively for movies and gaming.

3D definitely is meant to be on a large screen.

Is it best to keep noise reduction & digital noise reduction turned off on lcd tv's? Just want some thoughts on it. Thanks.

If I'm looking for a TV for purely just watching Movies and shows, no gaming. Would this be a good choice? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-...?skuId=5113200

Looking for something under 1k with the best picture and has 4k HDR.

It's average to slightly below average (for movies) according to rtings.com - has problems with motion and no deep color gamut are the issues. It's actually better for gaming than movie watching.

          Here's the link.

The 4k Samsung KU6300 Series UHD LED TV doesn't have a stellar picture quality but is good enough for most content. It supports an HDR input, but it doesn't have...

I'd go for the 55" KS8000 which is $1149 (look for a sale to stay around $1000) if you can fit it into your space. Much better tv and bigger too for not much more.

Turn it off, always. Let the source material take care of everything, in case you're missing out on something that's supposed to be there.

If anything, maybe use it for SD content. I just have them off always. Those can destroy the look and motion of hi-def content!

Why do tv companies include such madness?

Some people prefer the soft look. It's the one that hides source imperfections. I for one can't stand it, myself.

Speaking of which, somebody in The Show forum was talking about tweaking their TV colors to make the Nationals' jerseys redder. In effect, they've changed every other color to make it happen. This means unnatural skin tones, grass and dirt textures, sky colors, etc. (of course, one might contend that those were already a bit off in The Show, but that's neither here nor there).

Another person responded with thanks to their individual by jacking their TV color setting up to 100. The only thing that stopped me from responding was that it was the wrong thread to do it in. I just don't agree with the tweakage. More "pop" doesn't necessarily mean more natural. I for one think it astronomically degrades the image.

It makes it look like a cartoon too and I don't know why people want to play a cartoon for MLB which comes at us all as if it is a simulator, not an RBI Baseball type game from the SNES days..

But to each their own I suppose, however I agree with you that's insane..

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I'm in the market for a new TV and I currently have a 55in LG 4K with no HDR. I don't like it and with a work bonus I'm getting a new one.

I am looking for a 55in TV with HDR. 3D isn't necessary but I wouldn't mind it. I'd like to stay around $1000 but I can spend up to $2000 for the right TV. I'm gonna use the TV for my PS4 Pro, 4K movies and streaming Netflix etc.

I like the Samsung KS8000 but the viewing angle makes me nervous. I have a couch sectional so the tv is always going to be in front of you but there will be somewhat of an angle for some guests. I don't have any furniture on the sides so I don't have to worry about that. I also like some of the OLEDs but they are more expensive so I don't know if they are worth the extra grand.

Yeah I don't know if the LG B6 is worth $600 more compared to the Samsung KS8000. The LG seems to have pretty bad lag time and OLED do have temporary screen burn in from the review I read.

I've had both and it's worth it. The lag time is gone with the most recent update and the temp burn in can happen with all oleds.

I actually went with the C6 since it was the same price plus 3D and curved. I don't care much for curved but 3D is a nice added bonus.
