So is it worth the trade off to get a better gaming experience because of the input lag on the Samsung and not have FALD? Also will I miss Dolby Vision, or with Samsung's HDR10+ be as good?

I know the Samsung will probably have better motion handling as will with the Freesync.

I'd say overall the most important things for me are sports and gaming and I'd say those are 50/50. I would love movies to look great as well, but that is less important to me.
The Vizio would be good for sports but for gaming is a now for me as just 1 hdmi input has low input lag of 15 and without hdr

The Samsung q6fn is great for sports as long as it is 55 inches or more and sports but hdr not so good on games and movies.

if gaming is your thing and TCL out of the picture than the Samsung with low input lag, and free sync is the choice but the Vizio is better for movies and has better PQ due to FALD. Sports will be the same for both but colors and pq would be better on the Vizio. But gaming would blow on that one compared to Samsung unless you do not care about hdr for gaming

Dolby Vision is a nice bonus on the Vizio but that is for movies which you claim not as important.

I have to weigh the pros and cons of each I guess.

I want great HDR for gaming. And for movies it would be nice too. I think I would actually watch more movies if I had great HDR.

I don't play many online games, so would the input lag really be noticeable between the Vizio and the Samsung?

And For the TCL I just keep wondering if the 60rz might be better for sports than the 60hz panel I have in my samsung now. I'm not sure if it's just 60hz is 60hz and that's gonna mean I'm gonna have the same issues I have now or is it possible some 60hz panels do better than others with sports. Because if it did better than what I have now, I would probably buy it right now.

I wish I could. I really like the Tizen interface a lot. I guess it's just really hard to get that perfectly well rounded set at the 1K or less price tag.

Oh, and BTW All of this is for a 55 inch.

The 120 hz refresh isn't going to do anything as far as watching sports on TV because cable companies don't broadcast with 120 Hz, only 60Hz. So you won't see a difference on Sundays though you will think you do lol.
The 120 refresh ONLY matters with gaming and streaming movies. And it's only been earlier this year that Xbox and PS4 with their most recent consoles for the120 refresh with HDR to be compatible.
Most people don't know this about TVs and think they are getting something special with these things and all your doing is spending more money for something you will never see ....unless you stream a lot of movies are are a big gamer. It's a selling gimmick is all it is. I've heard people say that 240 Hz is much better,....lol.... but you will never ever see 240 Hz refresh on TV broadcasts unless you are a real young person. Understanding these things is best before buying. But if you are using it pretty much for gaming, that TCL will be just fine.

You can look it up to verify what I'm saying. I have a 120 Hz refresh 55" Samsung TV and it says 1080p ,60 Hz using the best picture available. I'm on Cox Cable digital with the Contour console.

It's used to fill in the missing frames from the picture because the source doesn't have the frame rate. Also what you are seeing on your Samsung is the source, not the output on the tv as it is doing the upscaling to 4k.

120 and 240 definitely help motion even on TV as they enable smoother movements for fast motion.

No it doesn't. That's what they want you to believe. I suggest you do some research on it because that isn't correct. There are plenty of articles on it.

If you do no online gaming than the Vizio is good for HDR gaming at 26ms but if you plug it to HDMI 5 which is not HDR and do 15ms you will notice the difference in shooters or games like MLB the SHow

Sounds like the Vizio is going to give you what you want

Your statement is the same as saying you don't get anything from 4k TVs since TV is broadcast in 1080i.

120=60x2 meaning you get 1 additional frame for every 60 hz frame. Yes it doesn't change the source 60 hz, but the TV adds frames to make it appear to be 120 hz.

Maybe you don't notice it, but it helps motion with fast moving options. It also adds the soap opera effect for people who like that.

That is not true at all. It does not matter if cable does 60hz, the fact that you have a native 120hz panel means there is less blur in fast action scenes like sports and has nothing to do with what the cable offers. If you watch a long td pass on a 120hz it would look cleaner than watching it on a native 60hz panel.

120hz is not going to make the picture quality better than 60hz but for sports it helps reduce the blur effect in motion. If that is not something that bothers you than 60hz is perfectly fine

I have a 55" 120hz Samsung and of course a 60hz Samsung. I don't notice a difference and the majority of people won't while watching TV. I'm not trying to convince anyone of things, I just research things before a go buy something that costs hundreds of dollars. Though the 55" was only $400.
If you go read about it, you might be very surprised from what you think about it now because it does matter that cable broadcasts in 60 Hz.

The Xbox does look better on the 120 Hz TV with the HDR and it is noticable. TV, not so much watching football games, to me anyways.

Fact is most people won't and then there are those who say they notice but I bet if you just tell them it was 120 while it was only 60 they would say , oh yeah, that looks better.
                              I've seen that happen lol.

Again I always respect everyones opinion always, but I'm to agree with Rayzaa here a play devils advocate. Just because you do notice it doesnt me everyone else will.

Honest I don't get caught up on the 60hz vz 120hz stuff, I have two 60hz sets and watch all sports and can't say I ever stopped and said hey I cant see the football being catched or thrown. IMO and yes my IMO, I think the whole 60hz vs 120hz is way overrated.

Im never going to pass over beautiful set because its only 60hz. As far *** Xx comments, what Rayzaa is saying is true, nothing is a still won't be broadcasted above 60hz anytime soon, so its the TV's software that is helping, the regular customer isn't going to care.
