    Napoleon Dynamite (Animated TV series)

    I didn't know such a thing was to exist until I was looking up Jon Heder for my friend and the roles he's been in, but IMDb confirms it:

    Not too happy that this character and setting will be run into the ground. I still love the movie, so this kind of irks me. I'd almost prefer a sequel, but the only reason I wouldn't is because I'd call that "selling out" a bit more than a TV series. This kind of movie doesn't deserve to be on the big screen just because I love it, and a TV series would have worked better IMO if there never was an original movie, because now they have to play off everything they've already done.

    Slated for a 2011 premiere. Any thoughts? Dismissals?

                  It seems like a lot of people hate it because of how popular it got. I don't get how so many people could hate on such a simple, harmless movie like Napoleon. It's not like it was some massive blockbuster. I think the budget was just a few $100,000. A lot of the characters are great. (Ex: Uncle Rico and the jock at the school)

                          That's exactly what it seems like. Same thing happened with Paranormal Activity (of course, it got big enough to make a sequel the next year).

                                  I hated it the very first time I saw it - actually, I turned it off halfway through because I had yet to laugh once and thought I was wasting my time.

                                  Then, I saw people professing their love for the movie, quoting it and all that so I gave it a full shot and still barely laughed. Has nothing to do with how popular the movie got or anything, the movie just sucked to me.

                                          Not me-saw it because of OS raves. EXTREMELY disappointed.

                                          As to it's popularity it didn't exactly kill at the box office.

                                              One of the most overrated movies IMO. Didn't find it even remotely funny.

                                                  Same here. I had no interest in the movie but all my friends and other people were saying it was the funniest movie they'd every seen. So, I watched it and it was absolute torture making it through the entire movie. I didn't hate it cause it was popular, I hated it cause it was terrible.
