Yeah that's a great price for anyone who hasn't picked it up yet. I grew up with the original movies and the blu-ray set is really well done. Here is another clip for Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansit.../news/?a=42195

The CGI just looks so bad, the apes don't look remotely real in a good deal of the shots. Rest of it looks like it might be alright, even though the premise of apes overwhelming people is impossible to take seriously on any level, even in a movie where some suspension of disbelief is typically required. The fact that CGI is so extensively used in the movie, will make poor quality stick out like a sore thumb though.

CGI doesn't look hideous to me *shrugs shoulders*, I can't wait to check it out. Looks a million times better than Mark & Tim's Planet.

Yeah, I got no issues with the CGI either. I thought it looked pretty good.

I never grew up on this, is this exact canon as to how the apes took over or is the Walberg version the the true canon behind it? This movie interests me and i can't wait to see it

While the CGI monkeys might get on my nerves a bit I will be seeing this flick 1st weekend it's out. I'm a sucker for a origin story, even if a majority of them are major let downs.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

It has nothing to do with the Walberg version and is more connected to the original ape films. The inspiration for this film was Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes which saw the apes revolt against their human masters. The new film is an origin story but it has never been clearly stated how it fits in with the original movies or if at all. I look at it as the start of a new Planet of The Apes series inspired by the original movies.

Am I the only one who thinks I-Robot with monkeys when I see the trailer? The scene with them climbing up the glass roofed building is identical to I-Robot.

is it borrowed/re-used footage the way michael bay borrowed footage for the last transformers film?

Don't know what trailers some have been looking at but the CGI / Special effects look downright amazing to me so far.

I saw a small documentary on the making of this movie this morning on a local breakfast show and it looks amazing imo.

I wasn't a fan of another Apes movie when I first heard it but the previews and the fact Peter Jackson, WETA and Andy Serkis are involved really makes me look forward to this one.
