Re: Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes

Saw this the other day and I enjoyed it a lot. The movie flows quite well and most importantly, I really felt a connection to the apes. Kind of like wall-e where there was hardly any dialogue other than their own, this film managed to develop that audience connection thru sheer performance and the minuscule 'ape dialogue' presented.

I'm not even going to comment on the humans. They're supporting actors and pretty much pushed to the periphery halfway thru the film. The star here is Caesar (Andy Serkis) and the apes.

Really liked it, probably my favorite movie of the summer so far. I was worried that the trailers were giving away the entire movie, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't the case. Really liked what they did with the semi-post credits scene and how it sets up for a sequel.

I was surprised about the movie, my wife wanted to see it and it really wasn't on my radar. After watching the movie, I have to say it's my favorite movie so far, I have to rank it ahead of Captain America. Movie flowed great as it built up slowly to the climax towards the end. Thumbs up!!

I agree with everyone who said this was the best to come out for this summer. I really enjoyed this also. John Lithgow,James Franco were excellent and so was Franco's love interest. What a hottie!! The sequels should be interesting.

I thought the movie was awesome as well--thought it was cool that they focused on the entrapment of the apes and storytelling more than just straight mindless action all the way through.

Very good movie. I loved that they didn't take the usual hippie liberal douche storyline telling us how bad animal testing is. Excellent job making it a movie and not a statement. Acting was likable and the apes looked great. Looking forward to the sequel; thought the teaser was excellent.

Definitely a sequel can be done...or they could leave it like it is, and I wouldn't be upset...

is one of my favorite scenes from this summer. As usual, Andy Serkis did a great job with the motion capture, especially when you compare it to the other Planet of the Apes movies with the people not even attempting to move like apes.
It was a great scene and people in the theatre blew up. It was well done for such a small budget. I hope this turns into a series and it keeps up the momentum.

I left the theatre hyped out the ***. When Ceasar Buck and Circus Orangutan were on the trolly looking at the camera, it was bad ***! I want that poster! That movie was easily the best major film of the year. Sorry Captain A.

Great movie. Right behind Super 8 for my favorite of the summer, but why all the love for Franco? Personally, I thought this was his most boring role I've seen him in.
