Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
I've started to think they might introduce a new murder that is related somehow to Rosie. Say a witness to the crime or something. I really don't see how they can keep going with a single murder for a second season, but who knows.Comment

Ive been thinking that for a while. I will no doubt close out the season but they are starting to lose me a bit. I havent been a fan of the way they introduce and then get passed their leads and suspects.Comment

Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
I don't think AMC would have used this show to have a murder of the season type series. AMC picks shows that aren't about what they are about.
Walking Dead isn't about zombies. Mad Men isn't about advertising executives. Breaking Bad isn't about making meth. It's about the characters. And if The Killing is like those shows, I can definitely see this series being about one murder and the repercussions of that one murder.
Now, whether or not the characters in The Killing have grabbed you is another story. I definitely love the drama of the main family. Their daughter is dead and that's caused a huge ripple of changes in how they perceive each other. There's still Linden and her relationship with the fiancee, her son, the crime, the past.
There's a lot of story to tell. I think Rosie's death is just the event that created the real drama in this series.

What a mean way to end the first season. That's not a cliffhanger. That's pressing pause on us.
Anyway, like most likely felt, it seemed too easy to be Darren. I knew Holder was dirty but not like this. I really thought his technique would be used to solve the case not too derail it.
The only thing I'm not getting is why did he support the arrest of the teacher if he was just trying to set up Darren? Unless I'm missing something, that seems like a lost bit of logic in the story.

Now that was an awesome season finale
I knew that there had to be another big twist. I just knew it.
So, the detective at the end got in the car with someone. This is my theory with who:
SpoilerRosie's Mom. It has to be the Mom doesn't it? I'm probably way wrong again but, I'm used to it by now.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Here's an interview that talks quite a bit about what to expect next season.
And here's an article by someone who thinks the season finale was one of the all time great atrocities in TV history.

I've been finding Darren's campaign partner to be very very fishy as I've watched more of the recent episodes. Could he maybe want to be Mayor? Seems like a very ambitious guy that has had no qualms with playing dirty to get what he wants. Yet, here he is playing rah-rah for another guy.
It's possible the person isn't even someone we've seen yet. Too much guessing. I'd really like it if somehow the very first scene of Rosie running somehow actually reveals the killer. It's just not something we'd figure out until the time comes to reveal the truth."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. The writer doesn't get it.
The writer of that article complained because the show was too slow, had too many twists and didn't reveal who the killer was and then blamed it on lazy writing.
Every show on AMC is accused of being too slow. I think it's safe to say that AMC wants their shows like this because, as I've said before: It's not about what the show is about; it's about the characters. You know, "Story Matters Here."
And story isn't about revealing the killer. That's a goal. That's the end point. The story is about the characters, what they are doing. The Killing has made it their prerogative to show us the mundane every-day things cops do when trying to solve a murder; that families do when dealing with a murder; that other people indirectly linked to the murder do when dealing with that murder and the other things in their lives.
I think the people that want CSI to come in and run some field scans with 3D models and flashy graphics to solve the case should just stick to watching crime procedurals on CBS. This show ain't for you. And that's OK. Not saying there's anything wrong with those that don't like it. It just means you don't like it."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Re: The Killing (AMC Sunday Nights @ 10PM EST)
Loved tonight's episode. Even though I thought show was a little slow at times, I've really grown to like it. First AMC show I've seriously watched and enjoyed. Going to be a long wait until the new season.
Going way out there with this one, but:
SpoilerIt has something to do with Richmond's wife. Yeah, I don't know, just throwing stuff out there and hoping it sticks at some point.Comment

I'm on touchy territory here because I realize there will be members here that will agree with the above article, but I'm gonna say it:
The writer doesn't get it.

It just means you don't like it.SpoilerBut the thing is, unlike Breaking Bad or Madmen the characters in this show have no real tangible background. Holder who, like the article said, is the one bright spot of the series and we learn to understand him as a guy who actually cares and then he turns out to be totally shady. That's not a good twist, that's just bad writing. We literally know 0 about Holder. All we honestly know about Linden is that she obsessed about a previous case. They hardly touched on her failed marriage. They spent her whole time showcasing her parenting. We know Stan was once in a mob and we met his ex boss for 5 minutes, but we know pretty much nothing about what he did while in that mob. It's like they were writing this show as it was airing and they kept saying ooh lets put this in and ooh lets forget about that. Also like the article said, all season we were told watch and find out who killed Rosie Larsen. Well glad to see were closer to that.... I just feel like I spent 13 hours driving in a circle. The characters honestly aren't that great and really don't hold up the show. Also how is it that Richmond has his campaign address (other emails were from his supporters/advisors) tied with that website yet it took them 12 episodes to discover that nonsense.
Honestly this show baffles me with a season 2. I wholeheartedly expect Rosie to have stumbled upon a huge alien conspiracy. Richmond is actually from Mars and came down to help with the invasion by being elected. Rosie was in the woods and saw him coming off of his ship which forced him to chase her down and kill her. Belko actually pulls out the gun to shoot, but water comes out realizing he grabbed one of Stan's kids waterguns, he then runs away. Also Stan was a huge ex alien torturer and once he finds out Richmond is an alien by season 67 he will get back into his old job and kill him in the finale. As the credits role and Stan will walk away saying "welcome to America" and Richmond's eyes will slightly open insinuating a season 68. During season 68 Richmond ascends to Mars where he brings an army with him. Domination begins to ensue. By the end of the season Stan is given a special chemical by the president that allows him to fly and have super strength in order to save the world. This then spawns a new series called Super Stan which eventually becomes a full length motion picture! With that said the acting is phenomenal.Comment

You HAVE to be kidding me saying The Killing is about the characters. Mad Men is about the characters. Breaking Bad is about the characters. These are two of the best shows on television. Even a zombie show, The Walking Dead, is about the characters. The Killing is about finding out who killed Rosie (it's the tagline for goodness sake!).
Spoiler
We spent 13 hours, red herring after red herring (lazy writing by about the fifth red herring), and one really out of place character development episode, which would all result in a crappy twist at the end.
I'm gonna sit out next season. I'll lurk around some message boards to find out who killed Rosie and spent those 13 hours watching something that is actually good.
*For the record, I really liked this show up until the last 5 minutes of last night's episode. Really liked it. So disappointed.
