My employer treated us to a showing last Friday. My wife and I loved it, of course! I pretty much co-sign what everyone else has said. This movie was very well done from top-to-bottom. Loved all of the actors and how they portrayed their characters (especially Tom Hiddleston as Loki). Can't wait to see more from Marvel studios.

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
Wanted to get you guys viewpoint on the Hulk...
SpoilerWhy was the Hulk so out of control during his first transformation? Was he under Lokis spell? or was he just so overwhelmed by the explosion he couldn't control his emotions?
The Incredible Hulk movie hinted that he was gaining control while in Hulk form, and he obviously displays that during the movie. They don't really address it though. His convo with Tony in the lab would lead you believe he was still having issues controlling Hulk as wellSpoilerBanner rubbed his eyes while Loki walked by and grinned at him. that gave me the impression he was in his head. And then he grabbed the spear which signified to me that he was losing what ever control he had.
And when he first turned into Hulk it was more to me that he was battling it because he now knew it wasn't all him but Loki's influence. Which is why he went after Black Widow. just my thoughts.
SpoilerDefinitely revoked. Galactus is 28 feet tall and eats planets, or in Fox's world is a cloud. Super Skrull was actually a decent guess since he and Thanos have a similar look in some renderings. Super Skrull won't be apart of this until the Fantastic Four is back under Marvel Studios control, until then, Fox has them and the Skrull empire.
I can't wait to see where this goes. My guess is Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2 (the 3 currently in production) will lead into the Infinity Gauntlet storyline. Then culminating in Avengers 2.
It was funny, everyone in the theater was trying to figure out who Thanos was, and my 3 year old son goes "That's Thanos!" LOL I was so proud
Now the question is how long until this guy shows up.
SpoilerThat is so funny. My son picked up on it too because of Super Hero Squad..lolBeing kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Same, my theater showed it in 4K. It was beautiful. I love 4K projectors. If I had an insane amount of money I would get a 4K projector at home.Comment

Then he proceeds to have the loudest ****ing conversation to whoever about how so and so lied about him going to jail. He never went to jail, that's a lie. He did get into a little bit of trouble doing such and such but he never went to jail and so and so was lying about that.
If possible, I'd very much like to see this tonight. It's getting through my job interview today that I've been fretting about for the past 72 hours.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
The rest of this may sound a like a bash against the movie so to start on a good note, I would give the movie a solid B+.
While I understand the need to establish each character, the first half dragged on a bit too much. Also, I thought the jokes were great, but I felt there were too many of them (maybe because I prefer the seriousness the "The Dark Knight" has). It seemed like every important scene had some kind of joke thrown in. The other thing that I thought was lacking was the opening sequence. After it was over and "The Avengers" title was displayed, I couldn't help but think it was lacking a bit of excitement (possibly because Loki just seems like such a weak villain).
With that said, the final battle alone was enough to put the film in the top 5 of all comic book movies.Comment

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
Agreed. The Dark Knight is probably my favorite movie because of its dark/gritty nature. But not every single superhero movie needs to be that way, and I did not want The Avengers to be in that same dark style. I think the tone they used for this movie was perfect.Comment

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
So the only questions left are 1) Will The Dark Knight Rises break Avengers box office record? and/or 2) Will The Spiderman reboot break the new record?
I'm thinking DKR does.Comment

Wish the record was "tickets sold". Would be so much cooler to compare that way.Comment
