Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
Watching the different Avengers commercials during the NFL draft is driving me crazy, each little new piece of footage they reveal makes me want to see the movie more. May have to see this at midnight Thursday then see again SaturdayHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
Wanting to see this one. Don't know if I will see it opening night, but I am rather giddy for it. Doesn't hurt that there will be a new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises before it as well.
I'm surprised Whedon shot this it in 1.85 : 1 though. Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America (the latter two being 3D films as well) all were shot in 2.35 : 1, and it's not like they shot any of this in IMAX either. I just found that a bit odd. Shouldn't matter in the long run, but I guess they are framing for a taller scope in their shots in general. This film just might be some awesome vertical chaos, especially in those downtown action scenes... which are pretty much all of them haha.Last edited by Blzer; 04-27-2012, 11:31 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
My fault, I thought I had heard that once but looking up on IMDb he only directed the post-credits scene.
Either way, I just thought that was an interesting inconsistency. Not too many action movies use this framing anymore, it seems.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Ditto.... and I'm thinking especially this one since there are gonna undoubtedly be beaucoup amounts of little kids despite the PG-13 rating. Cannot stand the annoyances that brings at a movie. Some adults are bad enough.Comment

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
Didn't see Cpt. America but I'd say this was easily the best of the Marvel movies.
The Iron Man/Thor fight (not a spoiler,it's in the trailer!) was awesome. Story was kinda thin, especially something later on so it's no Dark Knight but the action sequences were fantastic. I was skeptical on Loki but he turned out to be a great villian with a good performance. Banner should've wore the glasses more, just didn't really look like him without.
As with all Marvel movies make sure to stick around for the credits...which I see someone already didn't do.
I'll go over some of those tweets from a few weeks ago...
There is probably more action in this film’s climax than all the other Marvel movie combines!
So, so, so much fun (for the most part).
Not a false note. Innovative. BRUTAL. And ******* funny. Hype = believe it. #Avengers
THE AVENGERS. Finally, a Marvel film with a rousing finish. I’ll deal with the first two acts in my review.
Also, the two things that made #THEAVENGERS amazing: the Hulk and the humor. Joss Whedon gets a 10 out of 10 on both of those.
‘The Avengers’ is a big tub of popcorn heaven.
SpoilerFor whatever reason,to get motivated to actually SAVE THE EARTH like they're supposed to be doing,it required Fury telling them agent Coulson died when he actually didn't. Which was predictable and kinda silly at the same time. Loki stabbed him, then Fury comes in and Coulson said the team needed a push to get together so you can see it coming. Just didn't make sense. You don't know he didn't die until a few minutes later when Maria says the Avengers cards weren't in his jacket but in his locker. Saving the earth should be push enough.Comment

True. The ending is epic and I don't use epic much.
Also true other than that one previously mentioned thing later in the story. I'll put it in a spoiler at the end.
Didn't really think it was innovative but the rest is true. Funnier than you'd expect too.
Yup. Like I said, ending is epic.
That one is horribly underselling the others. Iron Man was just as awesome as The Hulk and Loki was handled wonderfully.
Yup. At the end I thought "this is what they make summer movies for!"
