        Re: Dexter (Season 6)

I knew things would end that way. Not disappointed because it makes next season really, really interesting. The ending was probably the best part of the whole season though. I wish there were about 12 more episodes starting on Sunday from this point on. Now we have to wait 9 months.

          Meh...

The cliff hanger saved that episode.

I have one question. What the hell was Deb doing in that church? It seems like a dream because it makes no sense. Try to have a little build up before you do the last shock twist left in the series. The rest of the episode was bloody awful.

In the middle of the show somewhere, it said that Deb had to go to the church to do a final sweep. For like evidence and stuff..

She asked Dexter to do a final check of the church but he said he couldn't do it until after Harrison's pageant. I guess she assumed he was still at the church and went there? The timeline doesn't seem to work all that well though. I guess that was all a microcosm of how the season was as a whole as far as writing. Like I said, I'm glad it ended that way and it piqued my interest for next season. But, overall this season was rather lousy.

She's a Lt, what boss does her own sweep? And by herself? Isn't that what her staff is for? Can this show be a lttle bit realistic for a change.

And the plot holes this episode were too numerous too mention especially the abduction of Harrison and the cops being nice enough to wait around for Dexter to show up hours later and deface his own portrait. It's like this whole season was just used as a prop for Deb to find out and I think they screwed that up because of the creepy incest stuff. I wished thay killed Deb instead because if she's gonna act as creepy as she did this episode for the rest of the series then it's gonna be uncomfortable viewing.

One little thing I noticed at the church. Nothing was wrapped in plastic. LOL if that big reveal was actually Dexter having a dream sequence of Deb finding out. That would be tragically funny.

I know I'm beating a dead horse with this show with anything logical but why would Dexter do the kill at the church if his sister (well i guess soon to be lover now) knew where he was and might go to find him? And not to beat another dead horse but how did he manage to sneak Travis (and Harrison) out of that building in broad daylight. Sure hope dex didn;t leave Harrison unattended downstairs in the car while he went back up to get Travis. Your kid just got abducted that morning Dexter, please have some responsible parenting.

Best comedy line of the season (and there was lots). When Colin Gump saw Dexter at the building "BBBut I thought you were dead????" He delivered the line just like Cesar Romero did as the Joker in the Batman series.

That has been the charater's problem all season since getting the promotion.

But I get what you are saying.

I sure hope it was a dream because nothing made sense...

It's okay, man. The one that got me was getting Travis off the roof of that building in, as you mentioned, broad daylight. I remember thinking, "WTF? How did he get him into his trunk from the roof?" I also remember thinking prior to the show ending that the only thing that could save this season is to have it end the way it actually did. I still love the show but this season bugged me because of that stuff. I usually mindlessly watch it too but this thread made me think about, and notice, the writing holes this season. Damn you OS!

Oh yeah this series is shaping up to be the comedy event of the season next year, I honestly cannot wait. Deb crying every show because the brother she wants to have bone her is a serial killer and she's already dated a serial killer so been there, done that and her old BF was killed by a serial killer's daughter. Don't do it Deb, I'm thinking it's gonna end badly for you again.

And we get to hear her talk to the shrink for half of every episode next year. And guess what Deb? The new geeky guy in the Dept is also a serial killer. I don't know about you guys but if i was her I'd be asking for a transfer yesterday.

You would have noticed regardless because the writing was weak even by Dexter's standards. They would have minor plot holes here and there in prior seasons that were forgiveable but this year thay didn't even try to cover stuff up. It looks like they wrote the whole season in one day. They probably agreed that the Deb thing would be the big twist and they worked backwards which is never good.

You could drive a truck thru the holes this season. They got lazy and they figured that they had the big reveal at the end so this season they would do everything half assed. The only problem is the viewer has to suffer thru 12 shows for a 10 second reveal.

Like i said watch it for the unintentional laughs next year and I think you'll enjoy it more because it's shaping up to be a doozy if they don't fire any of the writers.

And don't forget Dexter getting picked up in a boat (I guess it would have been too boring just to get picked up and dropped off) and having the awful luck of being in the middle of a robbery (which we knew because his voiceover told us it was, I guess the gun wasn't a big enough hint). No problem though, he just kills the guy nonchalently because being a robber breaks the code now, drives the boat to Miami and asks someone on the beach to use the phone.

Deb wasn't going to the church to do the sweep herself.

Maybe you guys weren't paying attention, but Deb's psychologist told her to tell Dex about her feelings just one scene before the final scene in the church. Deb knew that Dexter would be at the church because earlier in the episode she asked Dexter to do a final forensic sweep of the church so they could clear it. Dexter said that he would after Harrison's play and that's how she knew where he would be.

This season may have had it's share of plot holes, but Deb showing up at the church certainty isn't one of them.
