The stuff they're saying about ESPN not wanting any of their employees to become bigger then them themselves makes complete sense. On the surface, they're "THIS IS SPORTSCENTER!", but they're just corporate, soulless bastards.

    Reminds me of EA Sports.
    NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
    NFL - Buffalo Bills
    MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Sports is the star not personalities. I didn't stop watching sportscenter because Patrick and Olberman stopped doing it. Certainly there were good anchors and not so good anchors, but at the end of the day if I want to see highlights and results of the game, I am going to tune in.

Might be the first book in awhile that I pick up. Looks like a good read.

You hear ESPN and think about possibilities but don't let your mind wander. The reality is, if there was anyone even remotely famous in the stories it was John Kruk and Lee Corso Eiffel towering Holly Rowe in the bathroom... When it gets down to it the vast majority if not all of those stories came from interns or the lowest level employees. That kind of **** happens in almost every large business.

ESPN has 400 employees that live in Bristol, the only three chicks we care about getting it don't live there and probably never went a single one of those parties. "Hey I'm a hot reporter that lives in LA, i'm dropping everything to fly to Bristol Conn so I can get me **** on with Lou Holtz at a lame Christmas party."

Darren Rovell wrote a review for it today, he worked there for 6 years so he has a pretty good idea of what goes on there. Basically he says it's pretty good but it's way to long and the beginning is kinda slow. I'm interested but probably won't get to it for awhile. Still have a couple other books I just bought I still need to read. Might try and pick it up before I fly cross country in a couple months.

I bought it on iBook today. Never bought a book this way before, but I figured most of my reading would be at lunch, at night and when I am on the go, so I'd rather try it this one then carrying a book around.

I was going to buy it for the Kindle, but they are asking as much for the Kindle book as the hardcover. I think I'll wait and see if it comes down a bit. Let us know how it reads.

The deletions were just due to it being readable and such. Truth beats libel and it isn't these guys first rodeo.

This damn book sounds like it may get my future wife (despite my current Penelope Cruz fixation) in some deep trouble over some comments regarding Erin Andrews.

I'll spoiler for those that are actually reading the whole book:

Wasn't expecting that. I heard on a radio show I listen to that she said Erin looked "beautiful and (another word I'm forgetting, but it was complimenting her)" in that video, which is kind of a weird thing to say considering the video itself.

But the fact Beadle admitted to watching it....

From what I heard it's around $30 but you could probably just check Amazon.

I think Amazon is selling it for $14.99 at the moment.

Go Beadle! It's nice to read honesty; you know she's not the only one that thinks this, but she's the only one with enough stones to say it. Good for her.
