Side notes:

I don't play chess, but I didn't realize "There are more possible games of chess than atoms in the universe".

Some serious Shaw-Root heat, which I did not see coming.

It appears we have good machine VS bad machine confirmed......maybe.

I don't play chess, but I didn't realize "There are more possible games of chess than atoms in the universe".

I was planning a lecture on infinity when I researched that if you tried to print all of the zeros in a googolplex in 1 point font, the result would be a line that could stretch from one side of the visible universe to the other (60-80 billion light years according to current observation and theory) and possibly make the trip around at least once more, assuming that there was enough matter in the universe for that process to take place.

the actress that plays Shaw (Sarah Shahi) is pregnant with twins and whether she dies is still up in the air. Even if she lives she won't return sometime until season 5.

I think it's possible to endlessly keep moving your final pieces once both players have taken the rest as long as they avoid a stalemate. So I guess if a game can technically continue infinitely then sure, more outcomes than atoms

Yeah, while hearing Harold I thought "moving the rook back and forth a bunch of times will make a chess game endless." Obviously any piece can do that but the pawn, but that was my inner voice for sure.

Another superb episode. And they did it all without any of the main players showing up until halfway through.

I confess I don't know what the wet paint realized by Control means.

There won't be a new episode until after the SuperBowl.

I'm guessing the wet paint just means she is going to start uncovering the conspiracy that is hidden from her, maybe even join the good side to take down Samaritan. Didn't like that she killed that Nautilus guy, though.

Harold told Control that she was being lied to and was basically just a janitor, someone to clean up a mess. Told her that under The Stock Market there was a shoot out and she was not in the know. Told her that people above her would kill her if it came to it and basically she wasn't as important as she thought she was.

Of course she didn't believe him about the shoot out and everything he was telling her so she went there herself to see if she could find anything and everything looked clean. She ran her fingers against the wall and found that it had recently been fixed leading her to believe that maybe Harold was telling the truth

I see the powers that be are moving on without Shaw. Hopefully we will see her engaged with the team sometime next season, but there's no guarantee.

It looks like the cop that teamed up with Fusco last week may become a reoccuring member of the cast...second time she has been on this season and seemed like some foreshadowing at the end of the episode with what Fusco said to her.

The producers have a golden gimmick that they're not going to give away. Shaw will be back if and when the actress (Sarah Shahi) wants to come back.

That being said it could be next season, the season after that or never. Motherhood is hard to predict.
