Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever. -
Re: Can Bill Simmons Win The Big One? (Grantland.com)
When I logged onto the site this morning I was stunned to see an article by Charles Pierce.
Should I be expecting an article from Keith Olbermann or Donald Sterling next?
I'm very impressed with the site so far. It looks like they're targeting a more "sophisticated/mature" audience.Comment

Am I the only one looking forward to their Reality Fantast League?
How do I find articles from the days past?Comment

I've looked around the site myself and I have to say it's very in depth and looks to be trying to go beyond the scope of the traditional sports media coverage while keeping a level of maturity about it.
Hopefully this lasts and forms a slightly more serious and analytical alternative to say, Deadspin.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Can Bill Simmons Win The Big One? (Grantland.com)
I just hope that the other writers have a different voice than Simmons. The two preview articles I read before the launch read just like a Simmons column, only they were written by different people.
I like Simmons' work, but I'm not a big fan of podcasts, so I hope he gets back to writing more columns.Currently Playing:

Big fan of nearly everything he does. Podcasts can be hit or miss but I always check them out an download them for the gym.
I do remember hearing a podcast on KFAN with a guy from NBA TV who was new. He said he was working a game and Simmons was there. He was a big fan and went up to him prior to the start and introduced himself to Simmons. Apparently Simmons was a total jerk to the guy and blew him off. That doesn't shock me but kinda made me a little sour on Simmons. The NBA TV guy said he heard similar stories like his during the NBA season. I have read he's not big on meeting people he doesn't know.
Oh well. Simmons is still awesome in my book overall.GT: Herkyalert

I will stop myself here now but may write more later about why Simmons is like this. That story definitely changes my perception of him.Currently Playing:

As I have stated on my twitter, the website is very pretentious, it's a lot of I was there when.... it's about what I would expect from Simmons. Simmons appears to be a terrible person and I can't wait until that is proven more than the ESPN book does.Comment
