I just got back from the midnight opening. First time I've ever seen a movie at a midnight opening. I got there at 9 and the lines were already packed. I must admit that I've been one to make fun of those that dress up for these things but it finally made sense to me. I talked with a group that were dressed up. One kid even had a gold t-shirt with wings as he was the Golden Snitch. They were sophomores at UofL and the first book came out when they were in 3rd grade. Their entire childhood was pretty much in this series and it made sense. A whole generation was impacted by this movie and the fan following shows. Anyways the movie was awesome. Non-stop action. I even got teary eyed at certain parts. It was probably my favorite in the series.

Basically, One of my favorite memories of elem school is in 3rd grade going on a field trip to see the 1st movie. My friends said it was kinda sad to see it finally end and I'll guarantee I'll feel the way after I see it today, easily one of my favorite book series ever and probably movie series as wellSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
Could have done the final battle better imo, but comparing the movie to the book doesnt do the movie justice as they can only fit so much into 2-3 hours.
It was amazing and depressing at the same time, I was so enthralled in the movie I barely ate the snack I bought and I read the book so it wasn't like I had no idea what happened. I sat through the entire credits just becaus it was the final Harry Potter and I grew up with it. I almost started to cry at the end but held back lol.
Gotta start my own HP DVD collection and can't wait to watch all the movies in a row, might start and read the books over again or atleast the 7thSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
epilogue seemed about spot on from the book only one little thing that was left out I believe, but the end before that seemed rather awkward i suppose for those that read the book. Still an amazing movieLast edited by Chrisksaint; 07-15-2011, 09:21 PM.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Alright, because if you were going to say the epilogue, I thought it was pretty cringe-worthy in the book, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is in the film as well.Comment

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
It was one of the best movies in the series(with the 3rd one), which isn't saying much.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
After not seeing Part 1 cause HBP was so bad, I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
SpoilerI kind of liked the whole standoff at the end. Neville's speech was great (albeit cliche) and Voldemort hugging Malfoy was the single funniest movie moment I've seen this year. So awkward. The theater erupted. Even louder when Molly said "Not my daughter, you bitch!" to Bellatrix.
I HATED how he just dropped the resurrection stone in the forest. He needed that damnit. How else can he come back from King's Cross? Exactly. Messed that one up.
I liked the epilogue. Very well done. Hermione didn't look older at all, I'm not complaining.HoosiersPacersPhilliesRavens

SpoilerI enjoyed every part of the movie except for the part 19 years later when they were sending their kids to Hogwarts. The did a horrible job of making them look older, the whole theater was cracking up, and I think the ending worked a lot better in the book because they could explain details.Last edited by jack1535; 07-16-2011, 01:39 PM.Buffalo Bills

Sad to know that it is over. I was introduced to the story in middle school and instantly read all 3 that were out at the time. Ever since then I have bought the new books on day 1 and finished them almost as quickly.
It's weird thinking back how it all started with Sorcerers Stone to how it evolved into something like Deathly Hallows.
SpoilerI'm still upset Ron didn't die. I would have fully supported the movie deviating from the book hereComment
