For the most part I agree. Nick and Jess can be over-kill a lot, but CeCe is typically very grounded and Schmidt seems to be very supportive of his friends no matter what. Plus, I feel like a lot his personality is found in many people nowadays considering the combination of douchiness and AAD haha. CeCe and Winston seem to be the most well-adjusted characters of the show.

Nick seems to be outlandish so Jess has someone on the opposite spectrum, so I get why he's written to be overkill as well.
But I agree. Winston, Cece are the most well-adjusted - though at times it feels like they had very nice upbringings, no? - and Schmidt (wait, which one?!) is definitely that guy everyone knows that somehow manages to do incredibly stupid things but always with the best intentions."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Yeah, it seems like Nick likes to add fuel to Jess's fire whenever he can. Its a nice dynamic that I hope they won't **** with by having them sleep together.

I don't think Jess is quite as outlandish as she seems. There's definitely people like her in real life. She's so similar to my ex-girlfriend personality-wise at times it's unreal.Comment

Aw man! Just watched the Christmas episode. Schmit giving Nick a lap dance and Nicks reaction made me squeal like a little girl.Comment

Olivia Munn is nasty-hot. I just. Damnit.
And yeah, Schmidt's lap dance had me on the floor.

Watched all of season 1 yesterday/today on DVD.
I can confidently say that this is (IMO) the best comedy on TV, and definitely my new favorite. Absolutely fantastic show, and Schmidt is one of the best TV characters I have seen in a LONG time.Comment
