Rick had to shoot Sophia because he needed to regain his role as the leader of the group. He was losing respect, people were openly questioning his decisions, and Shane's almost entirely psychotic (his conversation with Lori was crazy). Rick had to do it to restore some kind of balance and order within the group while keeping up faith in "humanity."

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 2)
Yes the show keeps delivering. Love the pacing also. With all the cookie cutter shows and "reality" crap out there I don't understand why anyone would want this show to go into hyper speed. Yes I'm sure where the story is at now could have been reached 3 episodes ago but so what? I want to take everything in and enjoy every second.
Can't wait for the show to fire back up.Last edited by Skyboxer; 11-28-2011, 03:43 PM.Joshua:

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 2)
SpoilerI like watching previews, but previews have become so deceiving over the years that I don't take any stock in them anymore. Granted we see Rick and Shane having a shootout, but who knows if these weren't spliced together to look that way. I've seen enough of those style trailers and instead their shooting at someone else.
I don't think they take off for the Prison till the second to last episode. They will need to build some kind of hook for Season 3. I bet this is where we will see Merele and The Governor (unless Merele is The Governor here).
I was talking with Chef last night on AIM about why Rick and the group don't take over the farm from Herschel. In some ways I can see Rick thinking that this is another man's home and property and we can't kick him out of it. I can see Herschel being a man that will fight even if its him vs. 100 to keep his home. I'd really hate to take another man's home in a crisis/apocalypse like this, but the more I think of it today, I probably would do what any human being would do and try to take over the place for the good of their family. It comes down to survival. Last night I was debating how its wrong to do that, but the more I think of it, you have to do something.
It was upsetting to see what happened to Sophia last night even though I knew it was her. The thought that they spent how many days searching for her, for only to have her be right under their noses. Worst of all is that it's a kid, regardless if its in human or zombie form.Comment

I'd rather have this than a 6 show mini series.Joshua:

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 2)
The problem about that is without movement, without zombie threat, without a purpose thier everyday lives are just the usual boring drama.Comment

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 2)
I actually fell asleep 10 minutes into last nights episode, but woke up for the final scene.
I asked my wife if I missed anything and she said 'Not at all'.
I woke up early this morning and finished the middle portion and she wasn't kidding. I hadn't missed a thing.
I really hope the 2nd-half of this season picks up the pace. I want them out of that farm, and back on the road.
For a show that's trying to lean towards human drama, they're doing a horrible job of it.
If you're not going to show more zombie kills, at least make the characters and drama surrounding them entertaining.
If I was forced to grade the first 7 episodes of Season 2, I'd give it a D.
The writers could have easily shrunk all of this season into 2 or 3 shows. Certainly not 7.Comment

Glad to see Shane finally go off and do what needed to be done. I agree the passing of the first 7 episodes was way too slow.Comment

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 2)
I thought the entire episode was intense from the group finding out about the barn, Shane & Lori/Dale drama and of course the payoff at the end. I was on the edge of my seat the entire 60 minutes.Last edited by jeremym480; 11-28-2011, 07:18 PM.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 2)
I found every bit if it interesting and far from boring. The story as a whole has been far more than just about a zombie threat. If it was just that I doubt I'd still be into it.Joshua:
