For example, this month I listened to the new Bon Iver album and also the Mumford & Sons, and on both I ended up just buying individual tracks I liked.

Its a great service for sure.
Checked out Bon Iver with your mention and really like them. Thanks.

ah, I never used the premium slacker. I guess the only advantage would be to store some files locally on the iphone

Anybody else into making/trading playlists? I made a new one this weekend and think its pretty stellar. Two songs are missing on Spotify (Black Keys and White Stripes), but still enjoy it.

Just got into this, pretty freakin' cool. I'm a little cloudy on the details... I don't know what the restrictions are. Once I upgrade my phone to a smartphone, I'll have to look into seeing if this is worth it to pay for or just keep it free and listen while at home.

I heard they aren't even making a profit as it is. Music licenses are expensive and I'm sure it's even more when it's available to be streamed.

It's still worth it for me. I like having access to almost any song I will want to listen to by a simple search. That and I despise i-tunes so this is much easier for me.

Arcade Fire finally is on board.

I've got to say, Spotify Premium has been worth every cent of the $9.99 per month I pay. I've listened to a ton of new music I never would have touched before. I've got about a 40 minute drive each way to work, so I load up an album before I head out and I'm good to go. Love it.

Now I just need some White Stripes. One of the most glaring omissions for me.

                        Re: Spotify

Absolutely amazing tool for finding new music, and rediscovering old music that you once had but got wiped out when your computer went down.

I'm trying to figure out something, though. It says a 10 hour music limit per month. But all the posts seem to be dated from a few months ago. I think I found the answer: it kicks in after your first 6 months. Because I've definitely listened to more then 10 hours worth of music. On Monday alone, I listened pretty much from 10 AM to 4 PM. I know that because every track I listen to is linked to Facebook. My friend knew I was home listening all day because his Facebook was blowing up with it.

I love that it tracks it to your Facebook, but I don't want to cram everyone's feed with that. I disabled it. I'll have to see if it will share tracks you "star" to your Facebook. It'll actually push me to use that function, something I've never done on my iPod or iTunes or any other music program. Scrobbling to my Last.fm is good enough. Speaking of which, I wish there was more Facebook/Last.fm integration. Unless I'm missing something, it's pretty bare...

Did they change how many devices can listen at once? A few weeks ago if I started up the mobile app it would stop play on my PC. The other night I put Spotify on my moms phone so she could use my account when I wasn't. I was playing different songs from my phone, her phone and the PC all at one time.

Crazy you should mention that, Ollie... yesterday I had the idea to give my old iPhone to my mom and put Spotify on there so she can use my Premium account and was curious if one account can be using it on two different devices at once.

Was just going to make a post asking about it. So it works?

Is Spotify moving slow for anyone else? It's loading artists slow for me, but it might be my 3g network.
