I think the show will turn out great. I was skeptical but, that was a great sounding line that gives me hope that there will be more like it. All the great characters together, although I fear Gannigus(mispelled more than likely) might die in that scene if that was indeed him. I don't know but, it's just a feeling since watching the trailer come on starz mulitple times.

The new Spartacus will hopefully do very well he ain't no Andy but, that'll do pig...that'll do.

I'd be very surprised if Gannicus dies in that scene.

In real life, he became one of the leaders of the rebellion, with Spartacus, Crixus, Onemeaus. He's believed to have died with Crixus in the war

I love this series, it just has awesome and entertaining written all over it. I can't wait to check this out. Gods of the Arena blew my mind.

He's not bad, by any means, but he's playing it differently. Andy Whitfield was more subtle, imo, than Liam McIntyre. Liam's Spartacus displays his anger and rage more openly. Granted, this was his first episode as the character. I'm sure he'll grow into it more. It's very hard to take over an established character. He's also much younger than Whitfield and most of the other actors, and it is evident. He just looks younger, and it makes it a little harder to believe he's the leader when he looks to be about the youngest one there. The actor that plays Crixis is 42, the actor that plays Oenomaus is 52, the actor that played Barca is 41, Asher is 39, and Whitfield was 40, but Liam is just 29. The only Gladiator really around the same age is the actor who portrayed Gannicus, who's 30, but I think Liam looks quite a bit younger.

I know. It's just that they replaced the main character while all the others are the same actors still and it bothers me. He has a noticeably smaller build than the old guy and it doesn't scream bad-*** gladiator to me, throwing the whole character off. And the voice change is rather noticeable as well.

Stupid I know. It's still a good show that I'm going to continue watching. Hopefully the new guy grows on me.

Yeah, I understand where you guys are coming from. I miss Whitfield as Spartacus. It is too bad Gannicus was cast already, cause I could see that guy playing Spartacus.

It'll get better. Taking over a character that someone else played is very difficult. Everyone plays a character differently, so it's hard to adjust to that as a viewer. You can try and mimic a performance, but that rarely works well.

Maybe it was me but I did not find that this season's premiere was a seamless transition from where last season left off. At times I felt lost in the story. I know my comprehension is not bad, well hopefully not!

My 8-year-old could take this guy.
