Don't know about you guys, but I'm still addicted to this site. I only go to one room (Pop Punk/Rock/Alternative/Emo... affectionately known as PPRAE), and I've gotten up to right around 1000 DJ Points. The room is full of great people and moderators, always a good time spinning similar music and chatting with others on there.

I've always been a private listener of music. I like to have my iPod in and listening by myself. Only been to one show in my life and didn't really like it (not a fan of crowds, though I did enjoy the live music experience). So Turntable is like going to a show in the comfort of your own home... perfect for my tastes.

I know this site has been getting a lot of publicity on tech blogs and the like as one of the best up and coming sites out there, so it's pretty cool to have caught on early in the process. Not only that, but I really have discovered tons of great music on there (and combined with Spotify, able to listen on-demand instead of having to wait on people to spin those tracks).

Awesome idea, awesome site, and hopefully it continues to take off!

Turntable shut down in early December, unfortunately. They're still doing "live concerts" where an artist spins tracks and whatnot. The whole thing is Turntable Live now, haven't used it/don't care for it so not sure how it works.

Apparently, there's a site of similar nature called Plug.dj. Most of the people from the room I frequented on Turntable have migrated there. Haven't had time to check it out yet, and as far as I know there isn't an app yet as there was for TT.fm, so I'm not sure how it works. They did accommodate the people migrating over from TT by allowing transfer of playlists and stuff. People put a lot of time into TT so at least it's not all for naught.

Went to use TT today and had no idea it has closed. Found this alternative though - https://plug.dj/
I think I like it better. It pulls from youtube. So you can find the actual song, music video, or if you know of a quality live version. You actually get to see the video too.

Plug.dj has a iOS app now. Android coming soon.

It's amazing to me, because it utilizes YouTube videos and SoundCloud clips. If you have the YouTube app, you know that it doesn't allow video/audio playback when in lock screen (speaking for iOS). Yet plug.dj's app does. Great engineering.
