    Re: Turntable.fm

And plug.dj has shut down. They ran a GoFundMe to stay afloat but it was too little, too late.

    Next up: Dubtrack.fm

See how long this one lasts... Spotify, Rdio, Apple Music, Google Play or someone needs to build this in to their service. Only way it'll stay afloat. These little startups can't handle the costs. Not sure why they've shut down exactly but I know TT cited royalties as taking a huge chunk out of revenues. It needs to be a subscription model, I guess. I'd rather pay $5/mo or $20/year to have it around then $0 and keep migrating to the next destination after they keep going under.

      Re: Turntable.fm

7-8 years later, Turntable.fm has returned. It now uses YouTube and SoundCloud for its music library. Same look, and the word is spreading. Same link as before.

Personally, I’ve been using JQBX.fm the last 3.5 years. It’s clean, stable, and has expanded controls. It uses Spotify premium API for its library, so you need to pay for and log in through Spotify to access the site. The paywall stinks, but it keeps the library professional and organized and to a certain degree keeps the userbase “honest”.

      Have fun!
