Well its pretty clear that if you dies on that property, your ghost will stay there and can't leave/crossover. If Adeline died in the street, she's gone forever, that's why it was so important to drag her onto the lawn. Apparantly though, on Halloween, when the dead can apparantly walk amongst the humans, they can leave the property but still not crossover.

This is why the Maid was able to see her mom and I bet Tate took the daughter out for a date because it was Halloween and he had his get out of the haunted mansion for free card for a day.

I too thought there would be a little more build up to the Silar death. I hope they don't show the other guy getting it, because the realtor mentioned it in an earlier episode, and now way that's fit for TV.

Can you refresh my memory because I know it was a murder-suicide, but I can't remember how the other guy died.

Something about a fireplace poker where you wouldn't want it. Now that I think about it, Siler must have gotten the poker after the fact, because if it was supposed to look like a murder/sui, you probably wouldn't do that to yourself.

I'm sure we'll see the rest of that scene eventually.

I'm curious to find out how much of Tate's "ghost story" is actually true.

Probably pretty true because I think the doc's creation somehow found its way into the mom.

I did not expect the daughter next door to die. Pretty crazy. I also didn't expect to see the dead mistress show up, but on Halloween, the spirts are free to roam. Like someone else said, I guess if you die on that property, you cannot cross over

I remember telling my brother years ago that I thought they could pass for brothers. They do resemble each other.

I think so, it looked like something pretty small and child like.

Tate seems to be a much more powerful player than I originally thought, especially if he's the guy in the suit. Not quite sure if he is that guy, but it kind of threw me for a loop when he was wearing it.

Jessica Lange appears to be some type of gate keeper to that place. She keeps the maid there for sure and tried to get Addy to die on the property.

Just a hunch, but they will have to get rid of her to clear that property. Now that Haden was killed on that property, its another ghost thats stuck there.

Jessica Lange appears to be some type of gate keeper to that place. She keeps the maid there for sure and tried to get Addy to die on the property.

I think it's much more mundane than that, I think she's just another victim of the house (she shot her husband and the maid) who figured out how the house worked and is sticking around, living next door, to keep an eye on her secret and maybe even an eye on her ghostly kids (she said at one point she had several kids, though we only ever saw one, her trying to get her daughter to the house after being hit by a car, so I figure her other kids are current "residents" of the house we just haven't seen them yet*).

I get the feeling the blond kid is her son, she said she had one "normal" son, and it seems pretty obvious he is a ghost at the house, that would be a good reason for her to stick around.

You may be right. She definitely knows the secret to the house. Wonder why she wanted Addy to be trapped there as well.

Does anyone remember back a couple episodes when the maid and Lange were having the converstaion about the maid wanting to leave. Did the maid simply say, "I can't leave" or dis she say someting to the effect, "You won't let me leave".

Man, this show has me hooked like no other show has in a very long time. I can't wait for Halloween episode 2. Would have been awesome if episode 2 was Monday night and another new one on Wednesday.
