Re: House Season 8
I thought the finale was great, just not to the level that the finales to other seasons were, or even to the level the last few episodes had been. I mean, you have to admit, the last few episodes were fantastic. Trying to top them would be tough, so the finale seems a bit overshadowed. To me, it just felt too predictable.
SpoilerTold my mom, "Watch, everyone House is seeing is telling him to live. Cameron will be the one to try to convince him to die. She'd be the least likely to actually not try to talk out of it, so it'll be her that actually does." Then when the building exploded, I knew instantly House would fake his death. Didn't really expect him going with Wilson however. I expected Wilson to be giving his speech at the funeral, having the camera slowly zoom in on a picture of House, only to suddenly start zooming out on House somewhere in either Europe or South/Central America sitting at a bar. I think I actually liked the ending they did better. I will admit I laughed when Wilson received the "Shut up you idiot" text. Regardless, the episode brought a nice sense of closure.Comment

Re: House Season 8
I really hated the episode. I expected, and wanted, Wilson and House to run off and live out Wilson's final days. But the case, the ghost hallucinations, House purposely screwing up his staying out of jail, the obviousness of House faking his death, the miraculous changing of dental records, it all just fell flat. I liked the glimpse into the future at the end, but the bulk of the episode just didn't work for me.Comment

Re: House Season 8
Anyone else think the ending was not to be taken at face value? That perhaps House really did die and Wilson hallucinated his faking his death? I guess many people have pointed out the song playing at the end was the same song that played when House hallucinated seeing Amber a few seasons ago.
Or perhaps Wilson actually died and all of that was in his mind?
Not saying either ones my theory but just a bit suspicious of endings not being at face value since the Sopranos ended, LOL.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Just in case people still want wraps on this...

Not saying either ones my theory but just a bit suspicious of endings not being at face value since the Sopranos ended, LOL.SpoilerI definitely thought about this. I'm still thinking this could be the case, but as it stands in ambiguity, you can take it one way or the other.I mean, Wilson himself took House's phone from his home, and everything seemed a bit surreal (who would fake their death and be out in the middle of the open, anyway?). The text was made as if House could hear what he was saying, and Wilson was complaining about a phone when no one else was really saying anything about it (perhaps the text didn't really exist?).
The only part I can't make sense out of it with is Foreman and his "discovery" that House is still alive. Not saying the badge insertion can't be done by Wilson (or House couldn't have done it earlier), but what kind of moral screw-up would that be if Foreman laughs his head off knowing that he's alive, when really he's dead? Wilson, on the other hand, just might live in a state of awesomeness for the next five months while hallucinating the man, or perhaps not. I'd of course rather take it at face value, but either way it's a "feel-good" ending.
I don't think it's the other theory of Wilson having died already.
On another note entirely, is there any chance we get a spin-off of Chase M.D. ?Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: House Season 8
SpoilerGod....I. Hope. Not.
See, like you guys, I definitely tried to interpret the ending. But then, I realized something...
SpoilerI think in this day and age, we've come to expect the tv network heavyweights to end their shows in a way that allows the viewers enough breathing room to frame their own percieved ending.
And that would fit perfect in this series.
So there I am last night, with my GF, taking the same leaps as the rest of you. Why didn't anyone other than Wilson hear the cellphone? That in itself just confirms he's having hallucinations at this stage because he also clearly saw House's silhouette before the building exploded...
I mean, how could he have seen anyone's silhouette if House had escaped out the back and his patient (heroin addict friend) actually OD'd (and died) in the building (as the show alluded to and showed us all episode long)?...
Unless of course Wilson either:
1. Hallucinated the image
2. It was actually the patient trying to escape the building
3. It was actually House who died (making the rest of the events from that moment on such as the cell call and the bike ride hallucinations).
1. Hallucinating the image in general doesn't sound likely because we are lead to believe that Foreman saw it too. And Foreman was the one in the morgue. Though it's safe to assume if indeed there was a body; it wouldn't be recognizable, I still had to assume Foreman actually SAW a body. House's or the patients.
2. Now, if the patient was actually the one trying to escape the building...giving credence to the silhouette before the explosion...why was it that he was CLEARLY DEAD all episode long? This was determined earlier in the episode by the greatest doctor on the planet: Gregory House. I believe he pronounced him dead himself...unless House was also lying to his own subconscious about this.
3. This leaves House actually dying. I was honestly sort of suprised that the explosion itself wasn't the final scene (after the brilliant close up on Wilson before cutting to commercial). That would have been a *kind of* decent ending...
I think number three (House dying) is the most likely of the interpretive endings and would be supported by a few of my points listed above, except for Forman finding the ID.
If House had actually died, the most likely of the interpretive endings becomes in my opinion incredibly unlikely because of THAT shot of Forman.
So I just prefer to take the episode at face value. Just because our culture has shown us that shows like this leave a lot for the viewer to interpret doesn't mean that House did this last night.
I mean, come on? Wilson and House ride off on their motorcycles after the most brilliant man on Earth successfully accomplishes the greatest con on Earth to manipulate the situation into what HE wants. I love it!
This is what he's always done. 8 years worth. And to end it WITH Wilson? That sounds perfect to me!Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 05-22-2012, 12:33 PM.Comment

Re: House Season 8
The only problem with that theory is that other people heard the cellphone. They were looking and checking their cellphones when it first started ringing.Comment

Re: House Season 8
I think they only checked their pockets because Wilson asked/told them to. You saw his face, right? Like "come on, am I the only one annoyed by this?"
I don't think anyone else heard it.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 05-22-2012, 12:30 PM.Comment

That's what I thought. I just took it as House outsmarting everyone again and he and Wilson live happily ever after. Re: House Season 8
No need for spoiler tags after the episode has aired on both coasts. If you want to avoid getting spoiled...stay out of the thread until you watch the finale.Comment

If you havent watched the whole season and dont want to be spoiled, it isnt reasonable to enter a thread that discusses the whole season.Comment

Re: House Season 8
Seriously though, if you haven't watched the ending why would you join a thread right after the show just ended? If you're really that dumb you deserved to get the ending spoiled IMO...Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: House Season 8
LOL. Thats ridiculous. We are 22 episodes into the season and the finale aired last night. When does the need for spoilers tags end? A month? A year?
If you havent watched the whole season and dont want to be spoiled, it isnt reasonable to enter a thread that discusses the whole season.
Say for example, I want to enter the Mass Effect 3 thread because I want help interpreting a certain scene, or am wondering which weapons are available to my specific class, or just want to join in on the discussion about what I have seen up to THIS point.
Why then should I be subjected to getting the ending spoiled when THIS site has spoiler tags available?
Yes, the game has been out for months now and I have not beat it. I have no right to enter a thread and discuss the game without having it get ruined?
With DVR, DVD, and TiVo these days, people who are behind have the right to not be forced into being subjected into this if say, they were just wondering...
SpoilerHow long did Wilson have left to live based on his cancer diagnosis...
Because their daughter woke up and they missed that part.
Had they posted that question and viewed the response on the last page, the entire season would have been ruined.
This site has always been GREAT about this. You two stun me.
And the episode aired YESTERDAY. And that's just in America.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 05-22-2012, 03:45 PM.Comment
