Re: House Season 8
We've never required people spoiler tags for TV shows on this site. Movies and videogames, yes because people experience those at different times. People will go into movie and video game threads to see if that movie/game is worth seeing/buying. People are at different points in a game also at any time.
Once the TV show airs its fair game. Why would you go into the House thread the night/morning after the series finale and read it if you haven't watched it yet. I didn't watch it until tonight and purposely stayed out of the thread. It's not like its a game/movie where you go in to see if its worth spending money on. If we required spoilers every single post in this thread would be a spoiler tag. If you're that interested in a show you are going to be watching all the episodes already, its not like you would go into the thread before you watch it to ask if the episode was good and worth watching.
As for the show I thought most of the episode was alright, but it didn't stand up to some of the other season finales from past years. The last 10 minutes were great though, especially with everyone giving eulogies for House. After him saying earlier in the episode that he had no one else once Wilson was gone, it shows how many of his friends/colleagues care about him. The whole dental records switching was a little farfetched, but I'll let it slide.
Though I still disagree because TV shows aren't just watched live anymore...meaning they are recorded, downloaded and purchased on disc very often these days (I mean, I have real life friends that ask me questions about the show and never would I tell them how it ends in the process, which is exactly what would happen if they asked it in this thread)...and I only asked that the ENDING be tagged, because otherwise I'd agree, this entire thread would be spoiler tagged...
But, I understand the policy now. I respect the clarification and will respond accordingly to the OS rules.
I just didn't want someone with a question from a few episodes back to have the ending ruined. I meant no malice.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 05-23-2012, 11:09 AM.Comment

Re: House Season 8
Also, I was a little shocked there was no Cuddy return, even if just as a hallucination. I understand that she probably wouldn't come to his funeral after he almost killed her child, but....
So now that it is over, what were some of everyone's favorite cases/episodes?
For me my was the episode "Insensitive". (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insensitive_%28House%29) Something about how they took that tapeworm out of her at the end has stuck with me all these years.
As for my favorite episode, I think it might be the one where Dave Matthews guest appeared as the savant. I loved the struggle with "curing" someone if it would take away such an amazing gift.Comment

2 things:
1. I knew Cuddy left b/c of the pay cut, but I didn't know the terms were so rough she wouldn't be able to make a final appearance.
2. How did House know Wilson was talking?Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: House Season 8
Not totally confirmed but Omar Epps (Foreman) and Robert Sean Leonard (Wilson) took the cut. All three were making $175,000 per episode.
The bottom line for Cuddy might have been the fact that she was reduced to $2 million a year while Hugh Laurie (House) retained his $9 million a year salary. Laurie himself said that Edelstein's departure "came out of left field".Comment

Re: House Season 8
One of the reasons why I though it might all be delusion. Unless House had him bugged or was hearing from the window/right outside the home, there's no we he could have heard him, much less know what he was saying.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: House Season 8
Lisa Edelstein was making $175,000 per episode, so her season 7 salary was just over $4 million. The new deal was reportedly worth more than $2 million, so her salary cut was probably 50%, at best 45%.

It was really disappointing and took a bunch of (I'd say most of) the steam out of the final season before it even had a chance. Just didn't feel like House without Cuddy.Comment

I think you guys are really giving House too much credit. Also goes back to people not checking their phones.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: House Season 8
I don't think it's possible to give House too much credit. They wrote his character to be able to figure out anyone and know what they're going to do in pretty much every situation.
I do like the hallucination theory, though. I'll have to go back and watch that final scene because I thought everyone else was also wondering whose phone was going off, but I can't remember what I saw now.Comment

Re: House Season 8
Hasn't House always been likened to (or even partially inspired by) Sherlock Holmes? Didn't Sherlock Holmes fake his death once? I could see it being written that way as an homage to Holmes. I can also totally see the "Wilson imagined it" angle...but, as mentioned before, the Foreman scene kind of throws that off.
I'm just going to assume the writers wrote it to be interpreted both ways.Comment
