Is there a way you can go back to Windows 7?

        Never had windows 7

Thing is, I don't hate 8, it's just been fruitless trying to install a wireless adapter so I can't get online unless I run a wire through a hallway and a room.... That's just not the way to go

Is there a way you can get Windows 7 if you don't like 8 though?

Cause I don't know if I'll really like it when my order comes in

You'd have to buy the operating system and install it or have someone do it for you.

I definitely will tell you Windows 8 is "different" and it's going to take a minute to get used to. It runs smoothly and everything, but the average user would be in for a massive headache with this one

There are lots of videos online of people sitting the non power user (usually grandmother, father, etc) down in front of Win8 and them trying to figure out how to do anything. They don't go well.

Well that sounds like a train wreck

Shoot but even if this company were to install this at work, IT would more than not survive that one.

Still haven't gotten star dock yet, but then again I still don't have a freaking wireless driver on it so I'm not interested until I can.

                    Massive Bump.

I was given the go ahead to test this at work(tested it on one POS/Register and tested it on my main desktop). Once you get pass metro at least for me it's easily the best OS Microsoft has made, it's really fast and it's incredibly smooth and efficient on memory so far. All the software that I use on a daily basis works with windows 8 and those programs that didn't worked initially Windows was able to idenitfy was I needed to download and linked me directly to the software needed. After doing that the programs that didn't work were working. Also Windows 8 has this great menu for that looks like it was made for IT Pros, not sure if this is on the lesser versions of Windows 8 (I'm using the enterprise version @ work) If you're on desktop and drag the mouse to the bottom left corner a start button appears if you right click on the button it shows a menu which is incredibly convenient. Picture below:

Overall, I highly recommend Windows 8

Yeah, that's like saying "once you get past the dead mouse, this burrito is pretty good". Metro was always the problem with Windows 8.

Yeah, Windows 8 is a dud and a few articles came out that recently have dubbed it a failure. The jury's out, and it's what we've known all along...Windows 8 is a cluster****.

So I hear they finally released Windows 8.1

Did anyone bother upgrading to it?

I still have the disc, but im wondering if i put windows 8 back on here, will i lose everything I have on the PC right now?

I upgraded. Looks about the same to me, which is a good thing for me at least. There is a bit more integration with Microsoft accounts where I didn't really have a choice about linking or not this time. No big deal to me, but I'm sure it'll bother some. I didn't lose anything or have anything disappear.

i think you had to do that initially with the MS account stuff. I know I forgot mine lol its been too long.

With Windows 8, you did not have to connect the accounts. I wound up getting one later but I never chose to link it. I logged in using my PC name and password I set there. Maybe I missed it during the installation, but I could not opt out when I set it up the other night. When I logged in, it made me use my Microsoft account password and no longer my old password.
