I've never gone to a major venue to see a band play. All the bands I like play in some dark. Kind of cramped club/bar anyway and that's how I like it. I think the biggest place I've seen a band play is Clutch when they've played in Sayreville,NJ.HELLO BROOKYLN.

The biggest venue I've been to was the Verizon Center to see Pearl Jam. I've been to George Mason a couple times, too. Apart from the pavilion shows, most of the shows I've been to have been at the same little theater.

I kept a list for awhile, but my computer crashed somewhere around 2005, and I lost it. It was around 300 at the time, but I've gone to several more since then.Through music, you can live forever...TEAMS: San Diego Chargers, San Diego Padres, Notre Dame Fighting IrishComment

Re: Official Rock music thread
I only go to shows of bands I know pretty much every song by heart.
I find it pointless to go to a concert if I don't know the band really, REALLY well.
Bad Religion is my favorite band of all-time so naturally, I've seen them the most.Comment

Re: Official Rock music thread
My first concert was The Monkees on their 30th anniversary tour in 1996 hahaha. My second was seeing Rockapella (the group that did the theme to Where In The World is Carmen Sandiego). They peformed at the college my sister went to back in November 1999. Since then I've seen (amongst other no-name bands that I really don't care about haha):
-Weezer (with Saves The Day)
-Eve 6 (x2)
-Third Eye Blind
-Barenaked Ladies (x2)
-Green Day (x2) (first time with New Found Glory, 2nd time with AFI)
-The Offspring (x2) (once with Dropkick Murphys)
-Foo Fighters
-Our Lady Peace
-Avenged Sevenfold (x3) (first time with CKY* and Bullets and Octane*, 2nd time with Atreyu and Bullet For My Valentine, 3rd time with Disturbed, Stone Sour, and Hellyeah)
-Jimmy Eat World (with Paramore)
-Thursday (with Four Year Strong, Ice Nine Kills* (saw again Warped 2011), and Bring Me The Horizon)
-The Fall of Troy* (with Foxy Shazam, who I then saw a 2nd time at Warped 2011)
-Killswitch Engage (With Silverstein)
-Trivium (with The Acacia Strain)
-Less Than Jake* (x2) (Warped Tour 2009 and 2011)
-A Day To Remember (x2) (Warped 2009 and 2011)
-Streetlight Manifesto (Warped 2009)
-Flogging Molly* (Warped 2009)
-Senses Fail* (Warped 2009)
-Lucero (Warped 2011)
-Moving Mountains (Warped 2011)
-Unwritten Law (Warped 2011)

Re: Official Rock music thread
Anyway, back to the topic of concerts, I have only been to one: Skillet, Papa Roach were the headliners with Trapt and My Darkest Days. It was pretty awesome for me, because I love Trapt, Papa Roach and Skillet and My Darkest Days is okay. But Skillet puts on an amazing show. As far as Killswitch Engage goes, they'll be in Waterloo in July, but unfortunately, I doubt that my job this summer will allow me the time to head up there. Disappointing, because I badly want to see them in concert, especially since (according to what I hear from a friend of mine who's a huge Killswitch fan) they're allegedly going to have their original lineup back together.MLB: Minnesota Twins
NFL: Philadelphia Eagles
NBA: Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves
European Football: Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion
NCAA: UNI Panthers, Iowa Hawkeyes

Re: Official Rock music thread
It depends how much tickets are and how big the venue is. If the venue is relatively small and the tickets are 10-15, I see it as a good way to get the know the band better.

You should really consider joining this TurnTable.fm room I frequent. Don't let the title scare you away, it's really a play anything room: http://turntable.fm/pop_punkrockalternativeemo
Great group of people.
I've only been to one show, the Scream It Like You Mean It tour in Lancaster, PA. Silverstein and Emery headlines with I Set My Friends On Fire, We Came As Romans, Dance Gavin Dance, Sky Eats Airplane, and strangely Ivoryline.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Not a big concert guy myself either. I appreciate it, but music is an individual experience to me. I'm sure I'd have a better time at a different show as the Scream It tour was pretty intense for a first timer.
Thats why I love TurnTable. You get to listen individually but also share your love of the music playing with those of similar tastes simultaneously. I'm addicted. Ha.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills

Re: Official Rock music thread
ISMFOF put on the 2nd best performance of the bands that played (we missed Ivoryline). Silverstein was the best IMO, probably because I listened to them the most. Emery only got to play like 3 songs. We Came As Romans was good too, but I didn't get more into them until a few months after the show. Same with Sky Eats Airplane.
If I went to a concert with more bands I'm more in to, I think I would've enjoyed it more. But still like I said, I'm not a big crowd guy, I like listening in my own world through my headphones/earbuds.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Official Rock music thread
Hey can someone help me out?
I'm looking for some new rock music, but I dislike metal. Pop rock (I guess) is my favorite type. Anything you guys suggest?
I'm looking for songs that can tell a story like Innocent- Our Lady Peace
I'm looking for songs that are powerful like Losing your Memory- Ryan Star (especially the last 60 seconds of that song)
I'm looking for songs have a cool drop, almost acapella for a few seconds like Honestly- Hot Chelle Rae (2:10)
I'm looking for songs that can get personal like Perfect- Simple Plan
I'm looking for songs that reflect past times like Photograph- Nickelback
