I love Trivium, Foo Fighters, and Rise Against. I also like Mastodon, Metalica, and The White Stripes but don't listen to them extensively. I haven't really heard anything by The Dead Weather but I know it's a Jack White project. Haven't heard of The Sword though.

The Sword sounds like Black Sabbath but more metalish.

Don't know too much rock since I'm mostly hip hop and R&B but I enjoy these bands:

          Breaking Benjamin
          Nonpoint
          Theory of a Deadman
          Disturbed
          A Perfect Circle
          The Mars Volta

I love both rock and metal. It's really all I listen to, although for the last year or so, i've been on more of a metal kick.

              Trivium
              Alter Bridge
Killswitch Engage (prior to the most recent self titled album, that one blew)
              All That Remains

Those are the big four for me. Throw in some Metallica, BFMV (prior to Fever), and a few other bands as well that make up my playlists.

                I love rock as well.

Mainly older stuff like Metallica, Nirvana and Pearl Jam but I also like some Killswitch engage, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Sevendust and Pantera. I also LOVE rage against the machine but I guess they are almost more hip hop than rock at times.

My thing is a love heavy guitars etc but hate (and mean HATE) when some heavier rock just deteriorates into guturall screaming and grunting. I often find I have to almost edit out a few tracks on most heavier albums because of this but I'll take the good with the bad.

Nothing hypes me up for lifting weights more than some metal....

I used to HATE screaming til I stumbled upon Avenged Sevenfold playing Madden 2004. Downloaded their first 2 albums and really got into them before they stopped screaming and blew up in popularity with their 3rd album. Now I have no problem with screamed vocals. Still can't stand grunting though.

Can't stand screaming either. I like my singers to sing.

It's an acquired taste. I used to be the same way.

You guys should check out some of Marc Rizzo's solo CD's if you like shredding.

I attended the Foo Fighters/Rise Against concert this past night in St. Louis. Truly, amazing.

Tim from Rise Against vocals were spot on or even better than the albums. Great energy.

Dave Grohl is the man, just to clarify if anyone did not know. The Foo put on a concert for the ages. Over 3 hours long!

Yeah - I saw the one in St. Paul. It was good - nothing amazing. We skipped Rise Against. I'm not really a Foo Fighters fan, but it was fun.

I still think RHCP put on the best live show I've ever seen. They were absolutely crazy when I saw them. I'm not really a big fan of them either - I just went to them because my wife's a fan.

Not the best band I've seen by a decent margin, but Green Day put on the best show I've seen. And I saw Foo Fighters back in 2008 and they put on a pretty good show.
