thanks for posting that Fresh. never heard of them before but did some research and I like the sound of the band. Any band that is spacey and uses some Mellotron's is worth listening too.

I started a station on spotify using Black Mountain. This popped up first:

Funeral for a Friend released the first song off their new album (due out in January I believe) yesterday. Good stuff. They're definitely going back to their "Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation" roots, especially Matt's vocals.

FFAF always does an incredible job. Really excited for this new release.

Dan Auerbach from the Black Keys produced that Radio Moscow album. Been in my collection for a long while now.

Yeah, I was reading up on them this morning. I knew they were on the same label that the Black Keys were on for an album or two, but didn't know about that. Apparently they handed him a demo after one of the Black Keys' shows and Dan invented the lead singer/guitarist and bassist to his house after he listened to it.

I've grown to love this band in the past 3-4 years. I'm pretty excited too.

They've overtaken Rise Against as my favorite band. They have definitely changed over the last 10-12 years they've been around but it's amazing to me that Matt is going to these edgier vocals this late in the game, so to speak. He used to have pretty dirty vocals in the earliest years of FFAF but I thought he went more melodic due to the stress it puts on your vocal chords. I guess with the drummer parting ways (who did the occasional dirty vocals), Matt had to step up. I loved the drummer's dirty vocals so I'm sad that won't me around but am pumped for more Matt vocal range.

I know bands always say they're going back to those glory days us fans always remember so fondly, but FFAF legit is. I am SO stoked.

Anberlin's "Vital" is streaming currently somewhere (saw it on my Twitter), rave reviews so far. Definitely gonna have to check that out after missing the last release. I wanna see if it really is ground breaking...

Casually Dressed... was a spectacular album. I got into them around the same time I got into Atreyu and believe it or not didn't like either band at first. I think As I Lay Dying was the third band I had been introduced to at the time and came away the clear favorite. It's crazy thinking back to being introduced to those 3 bands all at the same time. For awhile Atreyu was epic status in my eyes lol, I'd get drunk and ask random people if they'd ever heard of them.

Yeah whenever I talk to people about FFAF, they always go to Casually Dressed.

I love that album, but the following release, "Hours," is my favorite so far. The riffs, oh man, the riffs. Two decent albums followed, and their most recent album "Welcome Home Armageddon" really signaled a turning point back to a cross between Hours and their previous two albums sound. Now I think they're reaching even further back to those Casually Dressed days.

They have a bunch of EP's and stuff too that have some really good tracks. "See You in Hell" and "Your History is Mine" come to mind.

Rush finally going to the Rock and Roll hall of fame. Pound for pound the most musically talented band ever in my opinion.

Anyone get the new Sylosis? Good stuff, but didn't expect anything less.

Good solid metal with some thrash influence if anyone is interested. Similar to Trivium I'd say.

edit: less like Trivium than previous releases, but good stuff nonetheless

Good band right there. The album I have reminds me a whole lot of Jimi Hendrix.

Ok Stone Sour leaked today, I'm only on the second track but I definitely see what they mean about the Alice n Chains sound, and I approve. I'm not far enough along to get the supposed Pink Floyd influence though, and I'm afraid they're gonna **** it up.
