Who is saying there's a drop off?

I dunno, see it around here and there. Social media search strings, etc. It's obviously not a LARGE sentiment, but apparently one nonetheless.
I guess some people, as said, are just sucked into the routine and now we're truly familiar with the characters and everything and they feel like there's a drop-off because the show is no longer "new".Comment

Re: Modern Family - Season 3
Some episodes are noticeably weaker than others (as with every show), but I don't think there's been a drop-off as far as the overall series goes.

I'm not even sure I notice a drop-off in some episodes. The only one that wasn't up-to-par that I can think back on looking at the list of episodes in Season 3 was the one last week.Comment

Yeah there's a difference between drop off and one episode being funnier than the other.
Anyone that says there's a drop off is probably just tired of the characters.

Re: Modern Family - Season 3
The only times I remember not enjoying it as much as usual are the times when Phil is a little too stupid with his goofiness and sometimes the sentimental parts hit ya over the head, but it has been really consistent since it started. A lot of sitcoms tend to get stuck in a rut and wallow around in circles, but it seems like the show is always trying to add something subtle (like with the spanish soap opera stuff - loved that) to give things a nice fresh twist.

The writers are the best. I still watch the older episodes and I still pick up things I've never seen.Comment

Might just be me but I dont compare my shows seasons. I havent noticed any fall off from this series at all. All episodes are excellent. Havent had a show this consistently good since Arrested Development in my book.Comment

Or with a show like Frasier, you can tell that some of the later seasons are not on par with the some of the earlier ones.Comment

Re: Modern Family - Season 3
The purchase of a DVR had me picking up the show in season 10. Good, but not great. I still enjoyed it, as I did final season 11, but was glad to see it bowing out when it did.
Cheers wasn't as good without Shelly Long, but it was still must watch TV.
Andy Griffith was not nearly as good without Barney Fife, but it was still worth watching.
The Office's thirty minutes use to seem like 8 or 9, now they feel like 30.Comment

Re: Modern Family - Season 3
I watched every episode of the first eight seasons of Frasier, but because of VHS restrictions I decided to record newcomer Smallville over the ninth season of Frasier, a decision that would have been difficult had Frasier held it's quality from the beginning. I'm not even sure when the decline began. I still watch reruns of the show.

The Cheers long-term storylines may not have been better after Diane left but I feel like there were many more individual episodes that were better in the Rebecca era.Comment

Re: Modern Family - Season 3
All the adult stars except Ed Oneill are suing 20th Century Fox, for putting together an illegal contract.
Ed Oneill makes $105,000 per episode. The rest of the adult cast makes $65,000 per episode.
