So added more apps to my phone. I've been taking all the .apks from my Droid and installing them on my Fire.

So far the list is:

Google +, Translate, Earth, Docs, Music, Talk, Voice, etc
Chase Mobile Banking
Tune In Radio
I Heart Radio
USA Today

Yelp won't work

But I did get my Google Calendar to sync with any of my calendar apps.

I also managed to changed my default keyboard to the Swiftkey X

I'm planning on getting a GPS on it so I can use GPS enabled apps.

Also, modders have found out that the headset jack is also a mic jack, so if you have a headset that also has a mic combined with it, it will work. Old Blackberry headsets work. So this will work with Skype and Voice.

5. 15 out of 6.54 available.

No roms as of yet.. Hopefully that changes soon. Folks at the xda forums have come out with a lot of great hacks for the Fire though.

Ya luckily its somewhat easy to unbrick. I try not to get too complicated with my Fire. I only use tried n true methods of hacks.

Saw one of these yesterday - looks like a nice entry level device. Response to touch was extremely similar to other Android tables, unfortunately.

Might pick my wife up one of these for Xmas. The price point is perfect.

Can two Kindle Fire's share the same Amazon Prime account? Was thinking about getting two for my parents but they certainly don't need two separate Prime accounts.

I have 3 Kindles and 9 apps (various tablets, phones, etc) registered to my account. All enjoy the benefits of Amazon Prime and whatnot and share the same library. So yeah they can share the same account, only real caveat is they use the 1-click purchase settings on the account.

For those that didn't know.. if you purchase Prime membership for yourself, you can add up to 4 people as sub-members off your prime memberships. These people must be "Family" members.

Go to Your Account
Manager Prime Membership

On the bottom is an "Invite a Household Member" option.

Go ahead and fill it out.. Ask your Parents to confirm that they know you and they'll be set. I haven't tested if they can use Prime streaming, but I do know they get all the other Prime advantages, such as free shipping.

Zion.. I'd just chat with a Customer Service Rep. They are normally really nice, and will offer you credit.. as well as letting you know that where your Fire is. Best part is that if they know your a frequent buyer, they'll upgrade your shipping for free to get it to you sooner.

I've done this a couple times that I forgot to order Release-Day Delivery.. All I did was chat, and 90% of the time, they would upgrade my shipping, and about 100% of the time they'd give me Amazon credits of $5-$15.

ordered one of those for the old lady for xmas yesterday.. she loves to read, so i figured this would be perfect. esp since she can do her basic internet browsing as well!! she not a fan of our ipad bc of it being a bit bulky for her to handle..
