I got the eco friendly one or whatever and it works for me. The Amazon says the stand doesn't work but it worked fine for me

        That's good to know.

I'll have to consider it. I don't order enough from Amazon to see the benefit to have Prime over free shipping. If I'm ordering from Amazon, I'm likely spending over $25 anyway.

Of the things I do purchase, most are books which I get via wireless.

Don't think this really helps me, but I do like the idea of a book a month. That being said, unless I'm reading $79 worth of books in a year, it won't help me. I love reading, but I don't read enough to cover that especially if most of those books I want to read aren't covered by Prime.

Though, having said that, I now found that "I hate everything" is free on Prime and I just read nearly half of it while laughing out loud.

I'm going to buy a Kindle Fire shortly and that's the one that's peaked my interest as well. The one with the fold (for "standing") seems good as well, but I'm afraid I'll fold it back accidentally while I'm reading or looking at stuff (while holding it like a book).

Yeah, I like that it leaves the fire clean without clips peaking around or a frame (or adhesives, some of the cheaper ones have had temporary adhesives). I've been close to buying it for days now, just figured I would see what others had found.

Have any of you guys used the Fire to view PDFs? A lot of my more complex board games have some hefty manuals and I'm thinking it might be easier to use a Fire with the PDF while we play as opposed to flipping back and forth through the book (I assume you can highlight things in the PDF on the Fire as well).

Also, for those who have one, how is it now that it's been out a few months? Has your use increased? Decreased? What kind of battery life are you guys experiencing?

I have used it to view PDFs. Mostly comics, but it has worked fine for me. Not sure what small print PDFs might look like.

My usage is about the same, though I've been reading less. Not because of the Fire, but because I've been using the time on the train to write/outline. I go through those moments. I still use the Fire to watch Hulu if I'm at a table and don't have the television near me.

I use pdfs with mine, works fine though I haven't tried highlighting and what not, just basic reading.

I use mine every day to read books. I don't use the web function so much nor do I watch movies on it. I use the music player quite a bit though. I think my usage has stayed pretty steady since I got it on release day.

The battery life is excellent imo. It will last for days and days on standby. I never turn it off. I can read a full day it seems without recharging. I do keep wifi turned off though unless I'm using it so I am sure that helps. It doesn't take very long to fully charge either. I love this thing.
