Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
Been watching S3 of 13 Reasons Why, think we’re 4-5 episodes in It’s kind of reaching the point of being annoying. Hitting on all the hot topics of the day so that ain’t the worst thing but as a series it may have kind of run its course. We’ll see what happens the back half of it.
Finished the season over the last few days. Definitely picked up. Some thoughts in the spoiler tag:
SpoilerOverall ended up being a pretty good murder mystery. Shoot, I guessed everyone but the eventual killer. I had a strong feeling on Zack and was thrilled to be right until I wasn’t. Lol.
Did a good job at making you question yourself when Bryce seemed to be turning a corner, whether violence bestowed deserves violence in return, and if killing someone who has done a terrible thing(s) is just. Not to mention pinning it on someone who sucks, but won’t ever face that because he himself got killed.
For what it’s worth, I don’t think Bryce was going to ever be a good person overall; his treatment of Clay at the end was typical of his past behavior, the cheap shot on Zack, and his demeanor after Zack gave him the business right back (though being immobilized wound probably make anyone angry). It showed his true heart was still dark. Not sure what he expected Zack to do after what he did out of spite anyway...
The domino effect of all the **** Bryce did came back around on him. Terrible but probably deserved.
I assume the bit with Winston and the discovery of Tyler’s guns is setting up Season 4. I think there’s some loose ends that weren’t tied up, not sure if Monty is actually dead. The cartel stuff introduced late too, possibly intertwined with Monty.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
Been watching Unbelievable, a Netflix limited series. Not my usual fare, but I've found it really compelling. Really makes you think. It stars Kaitlyn Dever as young foster child and rape victim Marie Adler. And a pair of female detectives played by Merritt Wever and Toni Collette who are chasing a perp without knowing it has anything to do with Dever's character. Would recommend.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
On the final episode of Sabrina's second part. **** really escalates in the last half of this part. Sabrina is a BAMF and I've really been enjoying the story. Surprisingly everything seems to be coming to a head which got me worried the show wasn't being renewed. Apparently Parts 3 & 4 are on the way.
Which that said I can see a lot of people not enjoying the show because of the subject matter.

Watching Unbelievable, wow the acting is top notch. It is about rape and what the women went through and process of the investigation (true story) . Very tough to watch but the performances are compelling.

Started this tonight. Only watched the first episode. Does it pick up any, because my wife and I were getting kind of bored with it? WANT to watch this though. It sounds interesting.Comment

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
Toni Collette shows why she's of the best in the business. Also great performances from Merritt Weaver and Kaitlyn Dever. Dever is coming up big after her hit Booksmart and delivers a powerful performance here.
This could of easily been a True Detective story but glad they made it their own to show light to the victims. Gut wrenching stuff

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix
Yeah, I like all three actresses. I first saw a younger Dever in a long recurring role on the Timothy Olyphant-led series Justified and watched Weaver as a regular on Nurse Jackie. Dever was also great in Booksmart.
I particularly liked Dever's performance and the camaraderie between Collette and Weaver's characters. Really good show, easy binge.Comment

As for Weaver and Collette, that was great chemistry. I heard a good description of the show is that it's Mindhunter meets Cagney and Lacey
