Re: The Walking Dead (Season 3)

The Ricktator has officially gone mad.

I'd say 8/10 for this mid-season premiere episode.

Damn man... Rick's group is not looking good. I was actually mad that Rick lost it in that scene. I guess I just expected for Rick to want to add some muscle to the group. This 2nd half of season 3 has not gone the way I expected it to go.

The Lori ghost creeped me out but also...

The thing that bothers me plotwise about this is they make it seem as if Rick has something to be guilty about with Lori and thus he's being haunted by her memory. That isn't making sense and it makes the whole 'Rick going psycho" thing seem forced. I could understand perfectly if he was the one who cheated on her and was a complete ***hole to her but it was the other way around. Another thing...Carl, a child, was the one who actually had to take her out and he's not phased at all. If anybody should be mentally checking out...it's Carl.

See I couldn't tell. Was Rick telling Tyrese and his group to get out or was he talking to Lori's ghost? And since no one else could see the ghost they thought he was talking to them when yelling get out etc... !

Rick was speaking to Lori, but since no one else can see her they all think he's talking about Tyrese's group.

Kinda depressing way to end the first episode back. They lose Daryl, Rick is ready to kick Michone to the curb, and now he's chasing off Tyrese. I can see why Rick is having trust issues (Shane, guys they ran into at the bar, half of the inmate group), but they need to be building up a stronger group.

Couple things I thought I caught but could be nothing:
            - The way Rick looked at Herchel's daughter when she was holding 'lil asskicker. Seemed a little odd.
            - The little smirk governor gave when Rick's group was attacking them, like this was part of a plan. That makes me think Merle is going to end up with Rick's group and then turn on them as part of the Governor's plan.

It was more because of his daughter crying when he is holding her. My guess is that when Herchel's daughter said she had Lori's eyes, he thought about Shane and whatnot.

He was talking to Lori's presence in the room.

Tyrese just took it as if he was talking to his group because obviously Rick is the only one seeing Lori's ghost.

Also when someone is whaling a gun around and screaming get out, I'd leave too.

Maybe so, but if that's the case why was Merle such an ******* and ruined his chance?

The way the governor smirked when attacked made me uncomfortable. Nothing but evil spews from him. It was like he was welcoming death and pain.

My take was Rick was talking to Lori's ghost figure thingy, and freaking everybody out because they can't see her, therefore everyone assumes he is going off the deep end about this new group trying to join....craziness.

I think you meant when Hershel's daughter kissed Rick after returning to the prison w/ Maggie... he did look at her oddly after she kissed his cheek.

When Rick was holding "his" daughter and she immediately started crying I think he then realized this is Shane's child.

Right. I thought the same thing and should have worded it better. I didn't think Rick was going to run Tyrese and his group off after Herschel spoke to him but he saw Lori's ghost and started going crazy.

I think it was the fact that he gave her the cold shoulder up until she died, and he never got a chance to say goodbye. As much as she was a biatch and cheated on him, she was still his wife, and knowing Rick, no matter how bad she would of treated him, he would of still forgave her because that's the type of person he is.

I think when Rick started shooting up the town, the Governor knew that this was a good reason to tell everyone why they had to retaliate. He no longer needed to hide his thirst for blood. He can tell the entire town that they can no longer be nice to strangers, and that they need to be the aggressor before such a thing can happen again.

I also feel that after his daughter was killed, he no longer had sympathy or love for anyone in the world anymore. Just like Andrea is nothing but someone passing by.
