And I totally agree that Lori's story may have ended prematurely. I don't think it takes away from how powerful that episode was, though.
Sounds very Children of Men like. I don't think a cure the zombie story is all that important to the story. They haven't even thought of why this is happening yet alone ending it. Plus curing the living of a disease that strikes after they die seems pointless. And curing the zombies is never a point in zombie stories. Cure them and they die from the injuries they aquired as zombies.

      Here's my question.

Knowing what you know about the disease, how can anyone ever want to sleep in the same bed with another person?

Well the only scientist they've met blew himself up. Doubt it's going that way.

Yeah I meant adopting Ricks little girl as mother. Wonder what this all means. Alot of the comic has been compromised. I'm looking forward to the other shock moments I can't anticipate. Lori was something else.

Why is it pointless? It makes the world an infinitely safer place when you don't have to worry about the dead coming back to try to eat you.

You're right about curing the actual zombies though.. there is no point in that.

                No no. Not sex.

I mean sleeping. Like actual sleep.

Because people die in their sleep. It happens. A lot.

                  Oh that?

Yeah, that's dumb. However, it's a natural thing to want because after sex they could be completely exhausted. Or they could want their significant other (or child) near in physical proximity.

That or it could be the lingering fear of facing a zombie completely alone when you're at your most vulnerable.

Pointless may not have been the word. Maybe urgent. Curing everybody in a world were most everybody else is trying to eat them makes the cure less urgent. Purging the world of zombies, as impossible a task that is, is most important IMO. Since that itself is pretty daunting task, curing the living seems...pointless. If they die you can at least contain them.

But older people, I wouldnt trust them sleeping for a second. I'd be so scared of old people especially.

Yes old people or anyone that isn't feeling well.

And I said bed but it could be a room.

Imagine you contain the zombies. It's 20 years later. Humanity has no cure but knows if you die, you need to be burned immediately. It's accepted.

Can't you see parents telling kids not to hang out with old people? Or warning kids not to sleep with their sick girlfriend.

"Screw the clap. What if she dies in her sleep and eats you?!"

I agree that at this point in time, a cure is the farthest thing from their mind (and the show's). I just think that nearing the end and if they want to provide some sort of happy ending, Baby Grimes as a cure could be one avenue.

They once said they hope The Walking Dead could compete with The Simpsons and its run of seasons.

I think if the ratings continue, there's a good chance at some point Rick won't be the show's main character.

I don't think they'd go that far off from the comic story. Neither are done yet but I doubt a happy ending. Something that'd be considered a draw at best.

I don't see a happy ending ever. A happy day is seeing Hershel walk outside with crutches with a chopped off leg.
