Is this the first episode where they only focused on one storyline? I can't remember another off the top of my head.
    PS: You guys are great.

This felt like a nice balance.
The difference is in this one you had character development with an interesting character and good actor in Morgan. Also the same reason I enjoy getting backstory on The Governor, since he's such an interesting character.

Last season was character development on characters who aren't as interesting/good actors like Lori, Carol, Andrea, etc.

That was covered in the last episode of the first season which actually doesn't have a comic equal.

            TS-19 Gives Us the Answers

The Comics: Robert Kirkman has deliberately avoided providing any clear explanation for the origin of the titular Walking Dead, as the answers take a backseat to the ongoing drama. The characters however, have reasoned on their own that they all carry whatever virus or disease re-animates the deceased, as even those dead from non-zombie causes will eventually rise.

Additionally, Kirkman has said that no "zombie virus" kills, but rather general wound infections get the better of bite victims. Several have avoided zombication with quick amputation of affected limbs.

Brought To Life: Here for the first time we're given a clearer picture of the science behind the Walking Dead, as the virus (which shares certain characteristics of meningitis) attacks Test Subject 19's brain, causing hemhorraging, death, and eventually re-animating the brainstem toward a mindless shell driven by instinct alone. That being said, Dr. Jenner still wasn't able to determine whether the affliction was microbial, viral, parasitic, fungal, or even the wrath of God as Jacqui supposed.

Every episode I hold out hope the little **** finds a way to get lost or simply get taken out by a zombie. Morgan got my hopes up tonight with his rifle, shame he couldn't hit Carl.

I wonder if they named him Morgan after the protagonist in The Last Man on Earth?
(I realize that was the last name in the film...and his first name in the Walking Dead)

I starting to really wish Woodbury had an equivalent to Carl...a Carl rival...an Anti-Carl...to beat the living sh*t... out of Carl.

Me neither, but I can see it having played out this way. Morgan is a broken man now...in this crappy world they live in it would've been nice to see Duane still alive and Carl have someone his age to associate with.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 3)

I think finally reuniting with Morgan is the thing that finally wakes Rick up and gets him back to the old Rick.

Morgan is a great character and I hope we see him again soon. Just the fact that he booby-trapped the entire section and was smart enough to get each walker trapped by luring them with live animals is genius.

Hopefully he can bring that to the prison. I was actually hoping he'd see Michonne and fall in love... lol

And Michonne finally gets a likable personality! I was getting irritated with her scowl, and she continued with the scowl while driving and getting the car stuck.

Writers were brilliant into having Rick and Carl talk about how useless Michonne is after they attack the Governor and that she will no longer be wanted/needed. That finally made Michonne realize that she needs to add more to the table if she wants to stay and actually just stop being the pissed off black chick. I didn't care for the cat pinata joke she made with Carl.. but having her save him, made me like her a little bit more.

Then having her interact with Rick in the final scenes about her imaginary boyfriend was also more great writing. I think Rick will finally snap out of it and become the leader he was suppose to be.

I'm still trying to figure out the hitchhiker message. Were the writers trying to imply that they can't afford to take in anymore strangers (even though it would help them against the Governor's army) but they'll gladly take his supplies since they're running low?

I think it was simply a statement on how cold the world is now and how cold Rick, Carl and Michonne are at least.

We were having a discussion about the guy on the road after last night's episode. One of my friends was saying that they should have stopped and talked to him, could have been an asset, they need more bodies.

I didn't really care, but I was playing Devil's Advocate for the sake of debate, haha. I was saying that they can't just take in a random stranger, could be an ambush situation: stop to help the guy, and 10 guys run out of the woods with guns pointed at you. Also, if you take the guy in, that's another unknown in your group when you already have to deal with Merle, plus another mouth to feed.
