    Hope she's alright.

After looking at some of Whitney's songs on YouTube it can't help but make you sad. So talented, so beautiful. RIP Whitney.

This one is from 1987, a Special Olympics performance.

From what I've read it's panic attacks/she's going crazy screaming at police and completely inconsolable.

Sounds like Whitney died from passing out in the bathtub and drown....what an odd way to go.

What is it with California and all these celebrities dying over there?

Like it's really kinds creepy/weird if you think about it.

Yeah, but there were bottles of Lorazepam, Valium and Xanax at the scene. Why the hell would you need all three to control anxiety? Even if she wasn't drinking that would be dangerous. If she had even a moderate amount of alcohol in her system she'd be playing Russian Roulette.

Whitney is one of about 20 groups/people to sell over 85 million certified records, do they all count as icons?
Please, stop trying to downplay her impact and career. Whitney Houston was not a dime a dozen artist. Yes, she had demons like most celebs, but she was the 2nd biggest artist of the 80s, and The Bodyguard soundtrack was for a long time, the best selling soundtrack, and I Will Always Love You was for a long time the best selling single. Her voice was INCREDIBLE, and her first 4 albums sold over 40 million in the US alone. She was a MEGASTAR.

Also, who cares what's hot now? Music right now sucks. I know one thing, I always venture back to the classics, where she has plenty. I could care less what's being played on the radio.

Well most celebs, artists, etc all end up out here so if they get into the wrong lifestyle, bad addictions, what have you, they more than likely will happen to be out here when and if they make a fatal mistake.

It is L.A. / Hollywood after all, throughout the decades you've had tons of famous people pass away out here.

Yeah, nothing really weird or creepy about it, more coincidence than anything.

I enjoy all kinds of music and music sometimes triggers memories good or bad. When I think of Whitney Houston's music and voice, those were some good times in my life.

I thank her for that talent she gave the world during those times, especially when this country was smack dab in the middle of the Gulf War. Her performance of the Star Spangled Banner was special and made America feel better at the time. I'll never forget watching the performance as long as I live.

Those are the memories I choose to remember with Whitney.

And if the Apollo Theater can call Whitney a "musical icon", so, can anyone else who has an opinion on the matter.
