I like the idea of the plot being centered around the gang's 10 year high school reunion since it has been just over 10 years since the first film was released back in the summer of 1999. You would obviously still have all the guys that still lived in the East Great Falls area according to American Wedding there (Jim, Michelle, Finch, Kevin & Stifler) and since it was based on a reunion it would give a good excuse for the characters that weren't in American Wedding (Oz, Heather, Vicky, Jessica, Nadia & Sherman) to come back.

You'd also need both of Jim's parents, Stifler's mom and Stifler's little brother somehow thrown in there as well to really make it complete.

I really don't think getting any of those actors will be that difficult anyway, save for Sean Scott, who has become arguably the biggest star out of all of them.

Chris Klein had a lot of potential, but he still hasn't recovered from the disaster that was Rollerball so I'm sure he would jump at the chance. This is why he didn't do AW:

He was the only one of the five original boys from the series to not appear in American Wedding (2003). When queried, writer Adam Herz stated that they did not have enough for Chris to do, and that it was hard enough to fit the currently existing cast in. They were unable to do a cameo appearance because Chris was in London during filming, and the budget would not allow for the expenses of having him flown in for just a few scenes.

As for the rest of the actors/actresses that didn't appear in AW, I don't think any of them are currently in any kind of position to be turning down a solid role any time soon...

^^^^totally agree. None of the cast members besides Sean William Scott have gotten anywhere big enough to turn this down

The redhead at least has How I Met Your Mother to fall back on. I do agree though, aside from her and Stiffler, I don't think I've seen anyone else in a movie or show in 5 years or whenever Reid stopped being on Scrubs.

ya, I guess I've seen Jennifer Coolidge and Eugene Levy in a few movies but nothing too popular except Jennifer Coolidge was in Click and Legally Blonde but didn't really have that big of a part in either

Eugene Levy has also done the spin-off American Pie movies and would immediately agree to reprise his role if given the chance. Jennifer Coolidge would also do it in an instant, as she is a Christoper Guest disciple and they believe in continuity until death.

BTW don't bother watching the first trailer. It's nowhere near as good as this one and it just gives more scenes away.

Whew, I went through that trailer wondering if Jennifer Coolidge would be in the film. Glad to see she made the cut along with everybody else.

I had to see the trailer to reaffirm that the magic from the first couple were still there. I think it is. I'll probably end up seeing it.

That trailer was surprisingly decent. I always liked the original movies for the sneaky amount of heart they have behind all the crude humor. I think just about any guy who had a tight group of friends in high school can find a reason to like these movies.

I think I might want to go see this movie. That trailer looks to have changed my mind about this movie. Perhaps its not just a money grab.
