    American Reunion

It's been a long time coming, but our scoop about Universal's determination to get the "American Pie" franchise back to theaters - and with the original cast - has been confirmed. The Los Angeles Times reported today that "Harold & Kumar" scribes Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg have been hired to write "American Pie 4", a sequel that (like the upcoming "Scream 4") will bring back the stars of the original trilogy.

Jason Biggs would likely do it, Alyson Hannigan too, and Eddie Kaye Thomas and Thomas Ian Nicholas won't be knocking back the paycheck, but what about now 'big timer' Seann William Scott?

You may recall Scott, who played the rancid party-boy 'Stifler' in the three "American Pie" flicks, telling Moviehole that he's not at all interested in playing the character again.

"I knew when I did [American Pie 3], I was like, ''I just want to complete this character''. It was like, what else can I do that's disgusting? What's the point of doing a movie if you can't do anything else to top the last one? .... there's nothing else to do.'

No Stifler = no point in seeing this movie.

Not that there was much point, but I guess no Stifler means I won't even try to catch this for free online. Maybe when it's on TV.

They can't make the movie without Stifler. The studio knows it would make no money.

Making American Pie without Stifler is like making a Batman movie without Batman.

I'm definitely going to watch it. Loved the "Naked Mile"(I think it was called that). Yes it does suck pretty bad that stiffler isn't going to be in the movie but, I still think it'll be a funny movie. Not a classic like some of the first ones but, funny.

Stifler or not, I'll watch it. I would really like for Stifler to come back but I love the first two movies too much to not watch this sequal. Until they make a really bad one w/ most of the original cast in place, I'll be watching them.

American Pie 4 with no Stifler? What!

Oh well, I'll rent it, anyways.

Stifler withstanding, if this isn't written by Adam Herz then I'm not interested.

I will see it but no Stiffler will be a major disadvantage for this movie

No Stifler? Then this shouldn't even be called American Pie... no thanks.

                          Re: American Pie 4

Sean Scott seems like the kind of guy where if EVERYONE else was on board, he would bite the bullet and do it. I just cannot get over Adam Herz not having any involvement though. That's beyond absurd. That guy created every single one of those characters and wrote the script for all three of the original films. As funny as the Harold & Kumar movies were, there is no way that those two guys can write for THESE characters as well as Herz can. Nobody can...

good news everybody. If the script is funny enough Sean William Scott said he would probably do it. He says he wants his character to not be grown up at all which sounds like that could be a possibility
