Re: chairs
I'm going to preface this by saying my previous computer chairs in the past five years have been a barstool and a computer chair that came from an office and looks to be from the late 80s. So the baseline is slightly above nothing.
I ordered the GTRacing Red from Amazon and came in yesterday. I ordered it for about $155. I toyed with the idea of waiting to put it together until everything came in, but my will power ran out quickly. Anyway, I've put many office chairs together when I worked a furniture prep room during college and this thing doesn't feel cheap at. The brackets are thick and sturdy. The holes all aligned easily. It was a breeze to put together.
It fits like a racing seat which I enjoy. The back is firm and comes with a head rest pillow and lumbar support pillow that belt around the back. The seat is firm, but definitely comfortable and comfy. I can see it getting a bit softer after more time in the chair. The MVPs are the pillows, though. The lumbar support is a difference maker I never knew I was the missing.
Aesthetically this thing is awesome. It pops for sure and the small racing touches are nice. The wheels look like actual car wheels. The back adjustor feels like a handbrake.
Overall I'm certainly pleased. As my entry into the chair world I'm more than satisfied. I'm not sure how good of a lounger this will be, but I'm can already see myself falling asleep in this thing.
