Re: *** Breaking Bad: Season 5 ***
I actually thought it was just a decent episode. I was expecting a new villain to show up.Comment

Re: *** Breaking Bad: Season 5 ***
I thought the episode was "typically terrific". The whole "magnet concept" was ingenious, although I'm not sure how it would actually work, particularly after seeing some of the rigging that went on in the 5 minute online special that detailed the magnetism angle.Comment

In a way there was a new villain-Walter White. Sure, his being a bad guy has been an evolution, but his killing of Gus sped up the process considerably.

It's very probable that Walt will be dead by the end of the series next year. The question is will it be cancer or occupational hazard?Comment

Impossible.
SpoilerHe said it was his birthday and made a "52" with his bacon which paid an homage to the pilot episode when Skylar made a "50" with his veggie bacon for his birthday. Since less than two years have lapsed in Breaking Bad time since then it is impossible that it was a flashback.Comment

The waitress said "Happy birthday, Mr. Lambert" when he left, so who knows whether it was actually his 52nd birthday or not.
With that said, it definitely wasn't a flashback as he had no reason to have a fake identity until now. Also the tags on the car expire June 2013
I thought it was a phenomenal premiere. @ VanCity - It wouldn't make sense to introduce a new villain (in a traditional sense) out of the blue or off the bat like that, not when it picked up right where it left off. Not without forcing a new storyline when there's so much left to uncover with the current one.Last edited by bichettehappens; 07-16-2012, 01:36 AM.Comment

Spoiler... a call back to later in the episode like they've done so much, maybe a call back to a later show or possibly even the finale??Comment

SpoilerPilot Episode: Walt Turns 50
#4 episode this season is titled ""Fifty-One". If this is to mean that Walt turns 51 on the 4th episode of this season then one year will have passed from that point to the scene with the "Bacon 52" in Denny's.
Most likely Season 5 Part 2 (Summer 2013) will take place almost exactly a year from the end of this year's finale.Comment

Re: *** Breaking Bad: Season 5 ***
That was a pretty good first episode, excited to see how walt gets to the point of that flash forward. Also really happy Mike is back and looks to be a main character now, Mike, Jesse, and Walt, what a group we have there, I just wish Walt and Mike would get along better.
SpoilerAlso can't wait to see what Walt does with that LMG.Comment
