I don't like to think of myself as an artist, but here's a cover song I just uploaded.

New cover, actually going to be one of my Christmas presents to my 6 m.o. nephew. I'm going to put it on a CD so it can run alongside his Kenny Loggins lullabies.

I played this song once for him, and he went bonkers for it. I hope he can keep it forever! (personally, I wish I could sing it better lol)

Sorry I didn't recorded it as a video, that was never the intent in the first place.

From 1978 to 1990 I made my living playing drums in a few different cover bands playing the New England Club circuit. We played 4 nights a week 48 weeks a year.

This is a David Lee Roth cover from 1987. I'm playing a Simmons SDS7 E-kit

This is a Van Halen cover same year , same kit.

                  Re: Music Artists in OS

Okay, I was fiddling around with playing Kill by Jimmy Eat World, and got what I think is a pretty decent cover by my ability standards.

I tried it up close to the mic (not in good camera view so I didn't shoot it) and liked it enough that when I went farther away to try and video record, not only did I not like the sound as much but I also never got another great full take in me. So I'll just keep my audio only take and put up an image of my video-recorded attempt, lol.

I tried to channel Jim Adkins for this one. Not perfect but ehh there is only one Jim out there.

                      Re: Music Artists in OS

Recorded on phone, did it for my Facebook crowd who's posting nothing but COVID and protest-based stuff, so I thought I'd share them here.

Second one is a little sloppy in parts, but it was on the first take so I hope you can still enjoy them. These are instrumentals only, no vocals.

How long have you been playing, Blzer? Aside from what you've posted previously - what else do you like to play?

I might need to bend your ear about starting to do home recordings.

I've been playing off and on since my sophomore year of high school. After my best friend died (Tim Volkert, 1998 - 2003) I heard my friend play Tears In Heaven at his candlelight vigil, and told myself I wanted to learn to play that. My dad had a guitar in the closet that he whipped out time to time, but I never had played myself. I went online and taught myself through chords and such. I don't remember how long it took me to learn the song, because I had to kind of learn other songs in between. Less than a couple of months, though.

I mostly only like to play songs from music that I like to listen to, so for me it's not that broad. Anywhere in the realm of alternative/rock is generally where I tend to sit, I wish I had a vocal coach at some point, haha. I'd like to do record more covers personally, but the other day was the first time I decided to simply turn on the phone and record, so that's not a very often kind of thing.

                          Thanks for listening!
