Isn't King the school Arthur Agee beat for the city title in Hoop Dreams?

Yep. That was the school he beat. King was going through a transition with two underclassmen centers in Rashad Griffith and Thomas Hamilton. However, that same team ended up winning the state title two years later.

I wanna know what happened between Benji and his girlfriend. The film made it seem like after she had their baby she started dissing him.

Damn women, they have to be one of the top reasons for ruining an athletes career. One ruined my brothers, Mami of Ohio along with a lot of other schools offered my brother a full ride, he would have been on the same team as Ben Rothlisburger and my brother was a receiver, but he decided to stay close to his girlfriend and ended up not playing anywhere.

But it aint the ****** fault, dudes should know better.

In full disclosure, that was Benji's older brother that did that, not his pops.

I remember hearing about this when it happened, and how it was on the national evening news, how incredibly unfair it sounded to my young mind. My parents used to get "Jet" magazine, and it had a picture of Benji laying in his casket, dressed in his uniform. It just didn't make sense to me.

Don't forget CVS high school. They produced a lot of NFL players and Juwaun Howard. They could have produced many more NBA players if their grades was better.

Then you had Carver HS that produced Terry Cummings and Tim Hardaway. And Westinghouse that produced Mark Aguire, Eddie Johnson, Hersey Hawkins and Kiwane Garris.

A hell of a lot NBA players came from Chicago high schools on the west and south sides. If it wasn't for so many of them having low grades and general just the wrong attitude, it could have been way many more Chicago kids that went to the NBA. But too many of them was too thuggish and knew street ball mentality only and that turned a lot of the college coaches away.

I would have liked to hear her side of the story today because from what I see, it's pretty clear she lied in court about exactly what she saw and heard that day. It doesn't surprise me that she wouldn't want to go through talking about it. I'm sure at the time she was under a lot of pressure to push the prosecution's case. I can't imagine she felt very good about herself after they got sentenced to such a long time in jail - especially the guy who wasn't the shooter.

I think there was some kinda beef or bad blood between her and Benji's family. Benji's moms passed back in 2000, and I saw a story on the net somewhere talking about how Benji's son wasn't able to go to the funeral of his grandmother because they couldn't get ahold of him.

                        I love these 30 for 30's.
I'm not even a huge fan of some of the sports shown, but I'm addicted.
