That's it. I saw where AMC or TMC is running an Andy Griffith movie marathon on July 18th. "No Time for Sergeants" is the only movie that I've seen of the four they are showing.

Also, I wonder how many people remember Leon is actually Ron Howard's younger brother in real life?

The guy who played Ernest T directed some AG shows.

Looks like Mel Brooks recognized his talents too, putting him in High Anxiety and HOTW, Pt1. Never knew. He also played some type of speaker in the original The Nutty Professor.

Andy knew how to surround himself with talent.

Would have liked to see them do something with Elinor Donahue beyond the first season, but she was pretty much locked into being Andy's girl and the two clearly had no chemistry. But it was Donahue's decision to ask to be let out of her three year contract. She felt she wasn't performing that well and had other personal issues. She said that if they had put up a fight to keep her she would have stayed.

He also put out several gospel albums. He had a decent singing voice and could play guitar as well.

Julie Adams seemed to be the love interest from the beginning. Too bad she didn't stick around. She was quite the classic beauty. I had forgotten that she was the damsel in distress in Creature From the Black Lagoon.

I think this is Andy singing the words to the original theme song. Pretty cool.

How about some favorite AGS moments?? This interaction between Andy and Don Knotts is one of my all time favorites:

                        Sad news.

Made me sad watching Brad Paisley's Waiting on a Women song with Andy Griffith. The end of the song where Andy's all dressed in white and he seems to be singing in the after life.

                        Great man. Great Actor.
