Re: Disney To Acquire Lucasfilm
I don't know man. I just went around my campus computer building and 15 out of every 20 people said Star Wars was set in the distant future. The other 5 were like "Star Wars? Ain't that for nerds?"

Re: Disney To Acquire Lucasfilm
No they legitimately argued this until they were blue in the face.
They tried to argue that since we don't have that sort of technology that that's our "future".
I had to walk away from that amount of idiocy before I got infected.

Re: Disney To Acquire Lucasfilm
This is not Luke's father's Empire anymore.
I wish The Mouse would make Shadows of the Empire into Disney's first
Star Wars movie. I really don't want to see movies about Han & Leia's kids,
not yet anyway.
I'd love to see Prince Xizor on the big screen. I'd even rather see the Thrawn
Trilogy made before anything else in the Star Wars universe, though
I know a lot of fans wouldn't want anyone else to play Han Luke & Leia
other than the original three, but it wouldn't bother me at all.
Of course, I enjoyed the three prequels, so what do I know.
Maybe Josh Brolin as an older Han Solo. That or Christopher Walken lmao
I have the exact opposite approach. Movies...no matter how great the special effects are...are really about characters. What made Star Wars so special was really how much people connected with Skywalker Solo Vader Leia Lando etc. I don't think those characters should be integral to the story but having them in there would add a certain charm back to the series."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

Re: Disney To Acquire Lucasfilm
So, Disney is planning not only to create Star Wars VII, VIII and IX, but also stand-alone films. Even having never seen any of the Star Wars movies (only reason I heard about this was because one of my profs always does media industry updates before every class), I am extremely interested in a) how they go about this and b) how it works out for them. It's clear why their doing this: make a return about their huge investment, and if they handle it well, that will happen... heck, even if they don't handle it well, they're going to get a ton of money from people who are fans. It makes perfect sense for them.

Re: Disney To Acquire Lucasfilm
I'd like to see a movie about the Ewoks (I know they're reviled but it might be interesting) and one about Chewbacca's homeworld.
A Yoda film might be interesting as well.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
