    1-5 of course.

I had very few, if any, issues w/S1.

Just felt a slight drop off in S2 for the reasons I mentioned.

I wasn't in love with Zoe, and she shared a lot of screen time with Spacey. Their relationship was absent of chemistry, and in the end it was all to advance both of their careers. It wasn't a bad angle, but I still had to endure their intimate relationship.

I didn't think Peter Russo was the most compelling character either and he had huge weight in the first season.

In season 2 Molly Parker (Congresswoman Sharp) was sensational and we had a lot more of billionaire Tusk. I liked the power game between the Prez, Vice Prez and Tusk.

I think I'll adjust my season 2 rating to 4.75.

Surprised to hear that. Peter's story was arguably the best part of season 1 IMO, following his rise to power to his fall from grace. I thought it was written incredibly well, and Corey Stoll was fantastic as Peter.

I rank season 1 and 2 about the same. Both seasons had a different feel, and both were expertly written and performed.

Russo was an alcoholic/druggie that rose to power, frolicked with prostitutes, then crashed and burned. I thought that was a great story. And I thought it was close to real life.

I liked the Zoe/Frank "relationship" simply because she was a nobody and looking for a come up. Frank basically leveraged her in every way to support his rise.

Sharpe was just meh to me. A glorified flip flopper. She was

He was too weak. There wasn't a sense that he could ever get out of trouble. There was never a moment where I thought he could win. He couldn't put up even a mild resistance to Frank or his own demons.

Yeah, put she showed the shark teeth by selling out her longtime friend, and she was willing to take on Frank and Claire (no easy task). She's a tough cookie. Russo was a crumbling one from the start. I hope you are right regarding your spoiler.

EDIT:I must confess I am a big fan of Molly Parker.

I realize that, but she's the one who made the choice between being WHIP or selling out her friend. That kind of win at all cost attitude may not be admirable, but it makes you take notice.

You are right, she wouldn't have been a match for Claire, but she did have the guts to call her out.

It's a viable complaint but why would they investigate further if there was no hint of someone pushing her?

They (and witnesses) saw her jump so it's easy to conclude she committed suicide. The only people that would have thought otherwise remained silent for fear they would be killed.

So any further investigation probably wouldn't have gone past the chief's desk. He would have asked for a reason to spend money on such an investigation and no one would be able to provide it.

She was a stressed writer. Kind of writes itself.

I was wondering what Underwood's angle was in terms of his interest in the Pennsylvania governor's race and why he deliberately torpedoed Russo's campaign, but the light bulb went on in my head as soon as he pitched the idea of Matthews resigning the vice presidency so he could run again for governor. Same thing when he was alone in the car with Russo and found a bottle of whiskey on the side of the driver's seat…
It was him adapting to the situation. I don't think he intentionally wanted Peter to fail from the start.
